It's your muscle building coach Lee Hayward, and just the other day I got an e-mail from one of my facebook followers asking if he would "Lose Muscle" if he switched from doing bodybuilding workouts to powerlifting workouts...
I thought that this was a very good question, hence the reason I dedicated an Ask Lee Video Q & A to answering it:
Does Powerlifting Make You Lose Muscle Size?
When it comes to the iron game there are 3 basic disciplines of weight training - Bodybuilding - Powerlifting - Olympic Weight Lifting.
Bodybuilding is for building muscle size (i.e. hypertrophy).
Powerlifting is for building raw power.
Olympic Lifting is for building explosive strength.
And while each of these 3 sports have their specific purpose, does participating in one take away from the other?
In other words, if you are a bodybuilder and start powerlifting - will you "Lose Muscle" ?
