Hey Friend,
It was 28 years ago, back in 1990, when I asked my parents if they would get me a home gym weight set for Christmas so that I could workout and get big.
I can still remember how excited I was Christmas morning when I woke up and saw the HUGE box under the Christmas tree.
After ripping through all the fancy wrapping paper and colored bows there was a York 2001 Home Gym Machine and a York Barbell and Dumbbell set. We set it up that very day and I did my first official weight training workout on Christmas day 1990.
That was the start of "Lee Hayward's Total Fitness Bodybuilding"...
We gradually expanded on that basic home gym and I spent my first 8 years in the Iron Game working out at home in my basement.
I competed in 3 provincial bodybuilding competitions and won the Mr. Newfoundland Junior Division and Open Middleweight Class Title in 1996 while training from my simple little home gym.
So you can certainly build muscle and make gains training from home...
But I don't think that it's the best option for most people.
In the video below I share the Pros and Cons of training at a home gym vs. a commercial gym. |
