| Hey Friend,
When it comes to supplementing your diet with protein powder, it doesn't always mean that you have to drink a protein shake... You can get creative and add protein powder to some of the foods and recipes that you normally have and make "high protein" variations of those foods.
But then this brings up the question of:
- Does protein powder become denatured when heated?
The answer is technically "YES", but it's not as bad as you may think...
When any food is cooked, some of its proteins become denatured. This is why boiled eggs become hard and cooked meat becomes firm. But this process doesn't mean the food loses its nutritional value.
The same applies for protein powders. Cooking or baking with protein powder will denature its protein, a process that changes the physical and chemical structure of the protein. But denaturation does not mean it's not nutritious. It simply means that it has "changed".
I have a YouTube video that goes into detail about how cooking and heat affects protein powder at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smweFqgIiiQ
