Enterokinase, bovine (E.coli-derived, his-tag): Enterokinase (EK) is an amino protease existing in duodenum of mammal and is involved in digestion. It consists of a disulfide-linked 82-140 k Da heavy chain which anchors enterokinase in the intestinal brush border membrane and a 35-62 k Da light chain which contains the catalytic subunit.
Most fusion proteins containing the Enterokinase cleavage site usually have a 6xHis tag, it is efficient and cost-effective to remove the His-tagged Enterokinase from cleavage reaction mixtures via Ni-sepharose columns during the removal of fusion tag. We source vegetable peptone & animal-free yeast extract for the production of His-tagged Enterokinase.
