I wanted to let you know we have a new team member on board.
He is only just getting started and we will see how this will work out over time.
His name is Armand Bologo.
The background is that we met talking on Linkedin.
He is very keen to get into the data warehousing world but has no reasonable path in to the industry.
He was doing one of those "boot camps" and was laboring under the mistaken impression this will help him transition from Law to data warehousing.
I was sorry to burst his bubble by telling him that is not how this industry works...and we got to talking.
I noticed he was very bright but had little clue about data warehousing. We had quite a few long chats in LinkedIn direct messages.
He impressed me enough that I offered him a proposal.
That proposal is that we first help him to learn front end well enough that we can help him get a job in Atlanta Georgia to support himself.
This job is planned to be creating reports for a Business Central installed account using Excel and PowerBI.
Then, while he is able to support himself, learn to be a salesman.
I proposed that he have Atlanta, and Georgia, as his BIDA market.
For those of you who do not know? Atlanta is a very large metropolitan area with more than 6 million people living there. It's all one man needs as his "territory".
As a former lawyer Armand has what it takes to become a very good salesman.
I have warned him that it will take at least a year for him to become a competent salesman, and in that year he needs to do front end consulting work to keep his head above water.
So that is the proposal for Armand.
He will learn front end pretty much through self study on our training materials. Raul will back him up.
And once he has a job doing front end reports for a Business Central installed account in Atlanta?
He will be trained in selling what will then be our entry level products.
Armands task will be to sell Business Central related products because he already has experience in the retail segment.
He will not be selling any banking related products or services any time soon.
