Elections for the Board of Shareholders of the pan-European industry platform Photonics21 are underway. Members of the Council participate in setting the direction of development of European photonics. This year, several representatives of Polish photonics are running for the Council. The world of optical imaging met in Warsaw

In the first week of September, Warsaw became a center for optical imaging - a three-day training, organized by the Candela Foundation and the International Centre for Translational Eye Research (ICTER), brought together an international group of optical imaging specialists representing both academic and industrial centers.

The growing offer of Polish photonics for the defense industry was presented during recent MSPO exhibition, the largest to date. Visitors to the Kielce exhibition could see new photonics solutions and products at the joint booth of PPTF members as well as at the individual companies' expositions.

Submit your work to the competition!

The Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS  and DuPont invite you to participate in the “Gold Medal of Chemistry” competition. Undergraduate and engineering theses in chemistry and related sciences (chemistry and biology, chemistry and physics), completed and defended in Poland in the academic year 2023/2024, may be submitted to the competition. Applications are accepted until October 12, 2024.

For the second time, domestic photonics companies made up the core of the Polish representation at the SEMICON Taiwan semiconductor industry exhibition. VIGO Photonics, Ensemble3, XTPL, Fluence, Instytut Fotonowy, Insoptics, QNA Technology and Saule Technologies presented themselves as exhibitors in the Polish pavilion as well as during the Polish-Taiwanese Business Forum.

VIGO Photonics has secured research funding at HyperPIC

A leader in the Polish photonics industry, VIGO Photonics of Ozarow Mazowiecki, has secured financing for the research portion of its strategic project to develop and launch mid-infrared photonic integrated circuits, thanks to an agreement with the European Investment Bank.

Recruitment for Electronica trade fair - until October 11

The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development is recruiting companies from the professional electronics, microelectronics and photonics industries for the Polish national stand at the November Electronica trade fair in Munich. The cost of participation in the fair is covered by PARP - those interested must apply by October 11.

Superresoluving spectrometer from UW

Michal Parniak and Michal Lipka from the University of Warsaw have developed a super-resolution spectrometer for short pulses of light, inspired by the principles of quantum physics. Their innovation makes use of super-resolution techniques, enabling accurate discrimination of closely spaced spectroscopic lines, exceeding traditional limitations. The spectrometer's architecture allows it to be miniaturized on a photonic chip, opening up new application perspectives.
