From chaos to complex order

Recently, scientists from the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS, presented an unusual phenomenon occurring during laser action, where the frequency of a particular pulse train can be periodically modulated by additional oscillations. They described the results of a real-time experimental study of a signal disturbance called double Hopf bifurcation during the operation of a ytterbium-doped fibre laser.
