Subject: Rotary Rows...an amazing new way to work the back

This exercise is one of THE single best back exercises I've ever found.

You'll notice three things with this one...

1. It matches the strength curve of the row much better than normal free weight or cable training...you get more resistance at the bottom stretch position where you're strongest and less at the top, where you're weakest. The rotary action allows you to use maximum weight through the entire range of motion.

2. The stretch at the bottom is incredible. By bracing your knees against the bar, you can achieve a powerful stretch at the bottom without straining the lower back. The whole exercise overall is easier on the lower back than traditional bent-over rows. It allows you to focus on working the back without concern about lower back torque.

3. The neutral grip of the handles is easier on the shoulders than an overhand or underhand barbell row.

Now, just to be clear up front, this one does require some specialized equipment, specifically a Safety Squat Bar.

The one I'm using is a Yoke Bar from EliteFTS. Not cheap, but an awesome piece of equipment that will last a lifetime....worth every penny.
