Kettlebell Swings are one of the single best exercises on the planet.
For real.
In addition to building strength and power, they also teach you proper explosive "hip hinge" mechanics (the hips snapping forward) that translate directly into increased deadlift and squat strength.
Swings are also AMAZING for fat loss and conditioning (one of my favorite "simple" workouts is to just to take a 105 lb kettlebell and swing it for 500 reps, done in sets of 10 with 20 seconds rest).
