Subject: Build incredible core (and upper body) strength with this simple hold...
I call this one a Counterbalance Lever and it's amazing for hammering the core and a good part of the upper body as well.
You'll be holding a heavy kettlebell or pair of dumbbells to counterbalance your bodyweight in a lever hold (an isometric bodyweight hold with the arms straight).
This is a more accessible way to get the benefits of a bodyweight lever exercise....not that this isn't extremely challenging as well, though!
Check out the full rundown on this one here.. it's an awesome core and upper body exercise.
Want 6 more killer core exercises? Try these...
- Dumbbell Crawling
- Barbell Pullover Dragon Flag Leg Raises
- One Dumbbell Curl Squats
- Ab Rippers
- One-Arm Hammer Planks
- Pallof Press Abdominal Sit-Ups
If can do all of these, then you've got a VERY strong core...
