Subject: An effective NON-STIMULANT pre-workout supplement?
I have to say this stuff is AWESOME.
I'm usually not a big fan of pre-workout supplements, primarily because the VAST majority of them are so chock full of caffeine (and other stimulants) that they just fry my nervous system.
Sure, they can get you cranked up for a workout so you might lift a few more pounds or get a few more reps, but at what cost?
For me, it was compromised recovery, trouble getting to sleep and irritability.
This was a long time ago, but I got to the point with those where I had to listen to meditation tapes for an hour while staring at the ceiling at 2 in the morning to even have a chance to get to sleep.

What's In It?
The ingredients are unique. To be quite honest, I had only ever heard of 3 of the 6 ingredients before (rhodiola, cordyceps and shilajit).
So I did some reading on the three others and came to the conclusion it would be worth testing out.
Yesterday, I took some in a glass of water about 15 minutes before my workout.
The taste wasn't bad at all...some herbal stuff tastes like gasoline but this stuff didn't have any sharp flavors to it.
If you're all about the sugary, fruit punch crap and superficial buzz that you get with most pre-workout products, then this formula probably isn't for you.
The company that makes this formula uses NO flavorings, colorings or any other junk....only pure, active ingredients. That's it.
The Hercules Pre-Workout Formula is about developing "deep" energy from your body, not just tweaking up your nervous system (which is, as I mentioned above, a very superficial, short-term approach).
And I know it sounds a bit weird, but calling it "deep" energy is about the best way I can describe it. It feels like the increase in energy is coming from inside YOU, rather than from some outside force or stimulant pulling your strings, making you work on borrowed energy.
Bottom line, for me, this stuff WORKS. I noticed an immediate increase in energy levels. I just felt more ready for training.
