Subject: 195 lbs and 8% bodyfat...
or 230 lbs and 20% bodyfat?
Which would you prefer to be?
I know that's kind of a weird question.
The reason I ask is because I've been on both sides of that coin... right now, at 45 years old, I weigh about 195 lbs at about 8% bodyfat (approximately). I'm in as good of shape as I've ever been.
At one point in the past (when I was 22 years old), I bulked myself up to 230 lbs (at 5'10") and I was a bloated walking carcass...big and strong, sure, but carrying way more fat than I ever wanted to...at least 20%, if not more. Couldn't walk a flight of stairs without huffing and puffing.
I don't anticipate ever getting myself anywhere near that size again...the amount of food I had to eat was just ridiculous, especially given I'm a natural ectomorph.
I'm much happier where I'm at now...lean and strong and able to perform at a high level both in strength, power and endurance activities.
