Join us for the opening reception of Jessica Brandl: Hazard and Jason Burnett: Hit Play and Press Repeat. Meet the artists and enjoy refreshments at Belger Crane Yard Studios located at 2011 Tracy Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.
Jessica Brandl, a 2006 graduate of Kansas City Art Institute and a former Red Star Studio Artist-In-Residence, returns to KC with a solo exhibition of new sculptural vessels.
Hailing from Bakersville, North Carolina, Jason Burnett makes functional ceramics influenced by American folk art, mid-century motifs, and pop-culture material in both real and idealized landscapes.

The LIVE event where locally purchased cups can be picked up and beverages will be served!
Each year, the Red Star Residents of Belger Crane Yard Studios create cups as a fundraiser for professional development. The sale of the cups takes place in two ways: online and in-person. Beginning in late January, the cups are listed and sold on a special Etsy site. Over the years the anticipation has grown so steadily that many of the cups sell within the first few minutes of the shop's debut.
Although there it a option to ship the cups, many local shoppers and collectors prefer to pick up their cups at the First Friday of February LIVE event. At the event, beverages are served and more cups are available for sale to those who may have missed the online sale. The evening is always festive, with the drinks and decor often following a theme picked for that year. Each artist uses the proceeds from the cups sold to purchase equipment, attend conferences or otherwise support their careers.
