Translated Pattern features a body of work inspired by Meredith Host’s 2014 artistic residency in Jingdezhen, China. Her time in this internationally-renowned capital of porcelain, influenced her making process, allowing her to experiment with scale, new motifs, and color palettes. Red Star Studios welcomes Studio Nong, an International Sculptural Collective, to present two workshops. The Collective consists of eight artists and educators from the Guangxi Arts Institute in China, Kansas City Art Institute, and Memphis School of Art.
Work created by the Collective during their artistic residency in Kansas City will be featured in a new exhibition at Belger Crane Yard Gallery. SunSet | SunRise: Work from Studio Nong opens on August 28 and runs through September 18.
