Hand-built from porcelain, Spain's functional work is inspired from personal childhood imagery seen in his rural, Midwestern upbringing. From shot glasses inspired by vintage battery casings to porcelain flasks that look like rusted oil tins, all of his works were precision crafted with the relationship of form and function in mind. One of the most anticipated events of the year, the annual Holiday Open House and Sale at Belger Crane Yard Studios has become synonymous with finding handmade gifts while exploring the artists' studios as the holidays approach.
On the evening of First Friday, December 2nd, enjoy refreshments and entertainment in a festive but relaxing holiday shopping experience filled with functional and decorative ceramics and jewelry made by Studio Members and Resident Artists. Artwork will be available for purchase in a variety of styles and prices. Lawrence Lithography Workshop will be open with special holiday prices on limited edition prints.
The event carries on through Saturday, December 3rd, with demonstrations and opportunities to meet the artists.
