Catie Miller received a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with a ceramic emphasis, from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Since relocating to Kansas City for her artistic residency in 2013, she’s taught elementary and high school students, and conducted classes and workshops for adults as Red Star's Art Education Coordinator.

Catie's recent studio work explores the collection of lucky charms or amulets. Her illustrations narrate the associations and significance of amulets in cultural traditions and contemporary practices. Catie’s artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and included in publications such as
Ceramics Monthly. Her work as an educator has also been showcased, most recently in Midwest Artist Studios Catalog and Curriculum Workbook
