What makes for a great Beecon?
We take look at the makings of a great BeeCon.
The dates for SABIO BeeCon will be over the 29- 30th May at the Protea Hilton Hotel in KZN.

The total fee for full participation is R2100. There are various different events, activities and a gala dinner included for this price over the weekend.
The main conference day is the Saturday however there is also the Friday morning conference as well. Friday afternoon offers a Beginner's Apiary site visit, which is optional, for an additional R400.
There will be a few exhibitors displaying their goods at the BeeCon as well.

What about the Honey Competition?
The honey tasting competition is taking place at the Royal Agricultural Show in Pietermaritzburg as well over the same weekend as the SABIO BeeCon. The dates for the Royal Agricultural show run from 29th May – 7th June
2015.

The Kwa - Zulu Natal Bee Farmers
Association would like to invite all beekeepers from all over South
Africa to send their honey for judging in the apiarian section of the
Royal Show.
We would like to be able to create the
biggest honey show in the country this year to coincide with the
BEECON 2015. If your honey is here, why not attend the Beecon as well?
The honey can be couriered to us [KZNBFA] and we
will set up your honey for display or you can deliver yourself, but
we are there to help you with your honey exhibit and after the show
we will send your honey back to you. Don’t forget your wax and
mead entries as well.
Details of rules and regulations will
be available shortly. The prizes have increased significantly as well
although he honour of achieving the championship bottle far outweighs
any prize.
