What I wrote below needs one change... to make sense.

The MATHS above looks wrong... And I meant to add that sunflowers generated R17,000 > per ton < per hectare in 2022 in South Africa.

This is HOW we calculated this new hybrid yield of 2 tons per hectare means R17,000 x 2 tons = R34,000 gross income [not R17,000].

Now, if you or a farmer gets 2 tons of sunflower seed yield per hectare and with 4x honeybee colonies placed per hectare can generate up to 40% extra in yield that's an additional R14,000 gross for every 2 tons of produce per hectare or R7,000 gross on every 1 ton produced per hectare.

Either way, sunflower farmers can generate at least an extra R3,000 per ton produced per hectare after renting 4x bee colonies at an investment of R1000 per hive per hectare to a beekeeper.
