We have set up a quick 5-minute Bee Removal Survey to gain some insight into the bee removal experience out there!
Bee Removal Survey Lots of people are getting to experience bees in a bad light this time of year in the southern hemisphere.
When spring happens our bees swarm and the result is a split bee colony leaves to find a new home! What to do about trekking swarms & catching colonies? We are the distributors for Swarm Lure sachets which a lab & field tested with 70-90% effectiveness on attracting a swarm that has split from your existing apiary when placed within 50m as well as luring a new bee colony into a catch box! The swarm lure is available in a single sachet that looks like a wet wipe if you open it completely. When tested in South Africa it proves to work best even when compared to lemongrass, beeswax and olive oil type combinations. It doesn't help to encourage a colony out of its existing home wherever that may be such as a pool pump, water meter or roof!
That's where bee removals are required with the sweat and hard work that goes with it! Please take 5 minutes to complete the Bee Removal Survey Let's talk bee removals & your experience with them! Spring and summer in Southern Africa is packed full of nectar flows and different flowering crops, orchards and flora. Right now, thousands of colonies are splitting and swarming off to colonise new territory & chase after strong nectar flows! The trekking swarm also makes it rather easy to establish a new colony for a beginner beekeeper or more serious beekeeper as you need to use one of our langstroth bee hives protected by heat dipping process into waksol which acts like a swarm attractant to swarms nearby! With bee season on, we kick into full education and training mode with regards to keeping bees and beekeeping! With that being said our next Easy Buzzing Beginner's bee course runs in Cape Town on 4th Sept - one week away! It is followed by our next course in Midrand, JHB on the 27th September.
