It's seriously that time of year that gives any beginner or hard core beekeeper a great opportunity to start beekeeping and increase their apiary sizes.

Our local Easy Buzzing bee course runs again on the 29th October near Lanseria airport.

Honey Extractor 20-frame Experts's advice
The splits continue to develop well following our feeding programme of sugar water.

We are almost at the point where we can repeat the process again. Once we have a core of 5 strong colonies continuously on the Spring nectar flows of an urban area we can split almost every month all the way to February.

Our apiary in Mpumalanga requires new supers to be added as the Macadamias there have been flowering well. The catch boxes need to be moved into Brood boxes with supers and fed. 

All in all, althought the rain has been late this year the bee season appears to be average to good!    

As you begin harvesting honey consider our LOCALLY made Honey Extractor which takes 20 frames with a manual gear ratio of 4:1 fitted with a honeygate. Portable and lightweight weighing in at only 30Kg together. Price: R6500 for 20 frames.

If you dont have a bee suit you can rent one from us for R100 on the day. There are at least 90 minutes of practical work with bees where you will open a working bee hive and conduct a full inspection.

The Macadamias are flowering now again as well as some blue gum species! Focus on the crops flowering now to enhance your honey harvest yeild. Learn more on our bee course!
