Summer is upon us, and I thought I would share a few of the latest updates, news, podcasts and articles from BeerSmith:

BeerSmithRecipes.com Has Nearly 5,000 Users

A month and a half after launching BeerSmith 2.1 and the new BeerSmithRecipes.com sharing site, we've got almost 5,000 users, over 9,000 total recipes and over 2,000 shared recipes online. Also I've extended the intro discounts if you want to upgrade your account. I'm working to add online recipe archiving in the future for all Gold members and above.

A Mobile Version of BeerSmith Coming?

Yes I am working on a mobile version of BeerSmith that will be integrated with the BeerSmithRecipes.com sharing site to make it easy to work between your desktop and mobile device. In fact I showed an early demo to a few people at the National Homebrew Conference last week.

My current plans are to develop a "lite" version which will let you view recipes, run a brewday timer, and some basic tools and then a more complete "full" version that will allow recipe editing. I'm initially targeting both iPhone and Android phone to be followed by iPad and Android tablet a few months later. I hope to have at least the lite version released by the end of the year, and some people have already volunteered to beta test.
