Hello Happy Beaders, It is time for Technique Tuesday where I bring you some tips, things to think about, different ways of looking at the beading stitches and more. Today I was thinking about the Flat Circular Peyote Hex shape that we did a few weeks ago. I don't remember if I pointed out that the step up moves... Then I started thinking about how you can do the Flat Circular with other shapes. So 4 sides makes a square. There are two ways I know of that will keep it more or less flat, and if you just increase at each corner and peyote along the sides eventually the sides get to big and it forces the shape to bend, and it becomes a warped square. I believe that Jean Power was one of the first to discover this. You will see warped squares in lots of different designs. It's fun to experiment with. Have a great week, and if you are in the South Florida area we do have new classes that we are teaching at the institute (Crystal Creations Bead Institute) our Florida Brick and Mortar store with 2300 Sq feet of beads and everything bead related.
