Good news and bad news for fashionistas
The bad news is that two of Denver’s best independent fashion shops are closing their doors, and the good news is that there’s still time to catch some great deals on top labels.

In Cherry Creek North, high fashion shoes from such designers as Emillio Pucci, Marc Jacobs, Loeffler Randall and Christian LaCroix are marked down by half to 60 percent during the closing sale at Samantha Castilla Shoe Boutique, 226 Steele St., 303-333-3206. Castilla says she decided to close the boutique after “three wonderful years” so she can spend more time with her family, which includes her husband, former Rockies slugger Vinnie Castilla, and the couple’s three young sons.

Larimer Square landmark Loft 22 has lost its lease, and the store at 1420 Larimer St., 303-893-5010, www.loft-22.com, will shut its doors some time in January. Clothing, gifts and accessories from Antik Denim to Yummie Tummy are marked down by 30 percent, and a few red-tagged orphans are reduced by as much as 75 percent. And thanks to Claire Walter and Laura Daily of Mile High on the Cheap for the heads up on Loft 22.
