If mom is an avid gardener who has strong opinions about what to plant, let her select her own gift at the Botanic Gardens’ Plant Sale Preview Party, 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 6 at 1007 York Street. For $35 per person, you can treat Mom to cocktails, appetizers and first choice of the Botanic Gardens’ finest plants. Experts will be on hand to offer advice -- or to listen to some, if that’s more your mom’s style.
