Best Colorado Deal of the Week
At this rate, the holidays may get here before Denverites need to don parkas, and very few of us are in the mood – or the position – to spend wads of cash on glittery holiday wear. So stock up on those Dior gowns and Gucci shoes at the All That Glitters sale of once-partied-in women’s evening wear, bags, shoes and accessories, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, at Hospice Care and Share Thrift Store, 5290 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder, 303-604-5353, www.hospicecareonline.org. The sale also includes gifts and holiday decorations. Plan to stay until 2 p.m., when everything that remains is marked half price. The best part of this sale is that all proceeds support HospiceCare's compassionate programs and end-of-life care for any resident of Boulder or Broomfield County, regardless of ability to pay.
And speaking of holidays…
Veteran’s Day is Thursday, Nov. 11, and Grand Junction-based Enstrom Candies is still honoring its 18-month-old promise to pay the shipping on any candy order that’s going to an APO or FPO address. So brighten the holidays a bit for a soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan by taking advantage of this generous offer, which is good at the metro-area Enstrom outlets at Cherry Creek North, 201 University Blvd., 303-322-1005, in Arvada, 6770 W. 52nd Ave., 303-215-9905; and at the Enstrom holiday season kiosks in the Park Meadows and FlatIron malls.
Go! Yule be glad!
Gifts for Yule is a great place to find food, folk art, antiques, linens, hand-knit pieces, jewelry, beads, papier mache ornaments, bath items, toys, children’s accessories, plants or virtually anything else fresh and fun. The sale runs noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at the Phipps Tennis Pavilion, 3400 Belcaro Drive. Just take East Exposition Avenue between South Colorado and South University boulevards. It’s midway between; signs will guide you. Admission is free, and there’s ample parking. For more information, go to www.giftsforyule.com.

Feed your mind while feeding the hungry
They’re trading books for food again this holiday season at Printed Page Bookshop, 1416 S. Broadway, 303-722-1846. Drop off a non-perishable food item for East Denver FISH -- a small, non-profit emergency food pantry that has operated continuously in the Washington Park area since 1974 – and receive a book in exchange for each food donation. In addition, Printed Page will give a $25 gift certificate to anyone who volunteers at East Denver FISH. Printed Page co-owner Dan Danbom notes that the book mall’s 15 book dealers “have more books than we can display, and East Denver FISH has more need than they can meet, so they’re a perfect match.”
Such a deal at Repeat Boutique Fur coats, glitzy designer gowns, sweaters, suits, handbags, boots – the least expensive of three is free with the purchase of two items at Repeat Boutique, 2725 S. Colorado Blvd., 303-757-0086, AREPEATBOUTIQUE.COM.
