Spread the word
Irene Myers is closing Irene’s Consignment and taking a well-deserved retirement after 23 years of serving as the conduit between socialites and the rest of us for beautiful women’s clothing, jewelry, handbags and other accessories. A terrific selection of already-reduced coddled pieces from St. John Knits, Louis Feraud, Ralph Lauren and other designers are reduced by additional 20 percent, and past-season items are half-price or less. Fixtures and displays also are for sale. For the best selection, hurry in to the store at 2342 S. Colorado Blvd., 303-759-3010, between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and join the stream of heartbroken customers who wish Irene well. Hugs accepted.

Time for playclothes
Sandboxes, swings, reservoirs, camping and nature hikes await your children – and last summer’s shorts, sandals and jeans just won’t do. What luck! All the stylin’ children’s consignment clothing, shoes and accessories in the store are reduced by 20 percent Thursday, June 3, Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5, at Petite Patoot, 1238 S. Broadway, 303-733-3337, www.petitepatoot.com.

Ready, set, sell that home!
As soon as the snow is gone for good, “For Sale” signs blossom throughout Denver. And if you’re putting a Denver bungalow, craftsman, Tudor or other pre-mid-20th-century home on the market, you’re going to want to replace any missing or broken lighting fixtures and maybe even stage the place. You’re in luck. During the patio sale 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Modern Bungalow, 2594 S. Colorado Blvd., 303-300-3332, www.modernbungalow.com, orphan fixtures, outdoor lighting and sconces from Arroyo, Mica Lamp Co. and Meyda Tiffany – some valued at more than $500 – will be reduced by as much as 80 percent. First come, first served, cash and carry, so be there early.

Calling all people!
The 39th annual People’s Fair, runs 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 5 and 10 to 7 on Sunday, June 6, in Civic Center Park. So what can you say about an event that has been entertaining Denverites, raising thousands for nonprofits and collecting plaudits for nearly four decades? Here’s something: Don’t forget to shop! Some 300 local artisans will be offering handmade jewelry, woodwork, photography, bonsai plants, fiber art, hats, pottery and more. And don’t forget to have fun!
