Best Colorado Deal of the Week
All the books you can stuff into a standard plastic grocery bag – from paperbacks to coffee-table tomes -- are $3 at the Friends of Bemis Library Bag of Books Sale, throughout Western Welcome Week, Wednesday, Aug. 11, through Sunday, Aug. 22, at Bemis Library, 6014 S. Datura St., Littleton, 303-795-3961.

The Bemis Library doesn’t offer the only great Littleton Western Welcome Week deals. Don’t miss the discounts on unframed art work — paintings, photography, art objects, sculpture, ceramics, greeting-card packs and fabric art. It’s 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, at the 22nd Depot Art Bin Bonanza Art Sale at the Depot Arts Center and Gallery, 2069 W. Powers Ave., 303-795-0781, in downtown Littleton. And, although it will be full day, make a stop at the Olde Town Market, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, along the sidewalks of Olde Town Littleton.

One sweet deal from Enstrom
Colorado-based Enstrom Candies is offering a sweet deal throughout August. Buy a 1-pound box of milk chocolate Almond Toffee and a 1-pound box of dark chocolate Almond Toffee and get 25 percent off the combined price. Enstrom’s metro area stores are at 201 University Blvd., Denver, 303-322-1005 and 6770 W. 52nd Ave., Arvada, 303-215-9905, or order on line at www.enstrom.com. And don’t forget the troops. You buy the candy, and Enstrom will pick up the tab for shipping it to any APO or FPO address.

Collectible and vintage books, half price
Vintage and collectible books are half price throughout August at the Book Stack, a project of the Women’s Library Association of the University of Denver. Proceeds benefit the University of Denver’s Penrose Library. 2199 S. University Blvd. To get there, turn west off South University Boulevard onto East Iliff Avenue, then turn right at first stop sign into parking lot. The sale is directly north in the Mary Reed Building, a red brick building with big square tower. The Book Stack is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
