For the dirt-digging mom

If mom is an avid gardener who has strong opinions about what to plant, let
her select her own gift at the Botanic Gardens’ Plant Sale Preview Party, 4
to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 6 at 1007 York Street. For $35 per person, you can
treat Mom to cocktails, appetizers and first choice of the Botanic Gardens’
finest plants. Experts will be on hand to offer advice -- or to listen to
some, if that’s more your mom’s style. The party is open to members and
nonmembers, and proceeds support the Botanic Gardens. $35 per person,

available). Purchase tickets by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4 or call

If you’d rather surprise your mom, do your shopping on Friday, May
7, and Saturday, May 8. Both days, member-only shopping is 8:30 to 10 a.m.
Public shopping is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on

For the home-decorating mom

Find designer chintz at chintzy prices at the spring warehouse sale
at Wesco Fabrics, which has supplied fabric and window coverings to Denver's
interior design trade since 1946. The sale runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Friday, May 7, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at the Wesco
warehouse, 4001 Forest St., 303-388-4101. More than 25,000 yards of drapery
and upholstery fabric, some made to sell for $80 a yard, will be $3 a yard.
Wesco's showroom sale also offers amazing deals on antiques, furniture and
accessories from China, Japan, Mongolia, Burma and Indonesia, including
petrified wood tables, recycled exotic wood furniture, glassware and
pottery, as well as upholstered furniture from C.R. Laine, drapery hardware,
blinds, drapes, jewelry, scarves, accessories and purses.



For the choosy mom

No matter what Mom wants, chances are excellent she’ll find it at
the Shop2the9s Warehouse Sale, noon to 8 p.m. Friday, May 7, and 10 a.m. to

Speaking of warehouse sales, there was a time when Crocs, would have them
regularly. These days, however, although the Crocs warehouse is still at

Saturday, May 8.

The Highlands Ranch Indoor Garage Sale runs 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the

Washington Park residents will be hosting yard and garage sales on
Saturday throughout the neighborhood in conjunction with -- but independent
of -- the Washington Park Home Tour, which benefits Steele Elementary School
and the Denver Public Schools Outreach program for homeless students. For
