GROW GROWS IN A NEW DIRECTION

Denver designer and Grow co-founder Verity Freebern, who has been making and selling Grow’s locally manufactured, eco-friendly clothing for babies and children since 1998 is changing her business to focus on her design studio and the Honeysuckle Breastfeeding Support Pillow.


During the Web site “Clothes Out” sale, all Grow’s whimsical “Sweet Pea,” “Pumpkin” and “Peanut” 100 percent cotton play clothes, originally priced at $25 to $40, are going for $10 or less on Grow’s Web site.

You can find markdowns of more than 50 percent at three stores within a few yards of the corner of West Littleton Boulevard and South Gallup Street in Littleton, so make a day of it and check out the deals at these great independent retailers.


GUMBALLS BAG SALE    
Gumballs: A Kids Outlet

Gallup St., Littleton, 303-795-6557, has reached the bag sale stage of its annual summer clearance, so all the selected summer merchandise you can stuff into a normal-size plastic grocery bag is $16.99 until Aug. 10. Other summer clothing is reduced by 50 percent to 75 percent, and last season’s winter clothing is reduced by 75 percent.


EVERYTHING HALF PRICE AT ACT II
The summer clearance sale runs through July 31 at Act II Consignment, 1226 W. Littleton Blvd., 303-795-1122.Owner Gail Kincade cuts prices in half on all the purses, shoes, jewelry, clothing and household items in the store -- including anything that might have landed on the shelf that day. NAME YOUR PRICE AT FOREVER GREEN FOLIAGE
The owners of Forever Green Foliage, 5767 S. Gallup St., Littleton, 303-795-8580, are in negotiations to sell their store, which has been providing high-quality artificial foliage to interior designers, hotels, office buildings, event facilities and restaurants for 28 years.  While things are in flux, everything is at least half price, and haggling is welcome. Merchandise ranges from nine-foot ficus trees, originally $800, now $400, to single flowers, originally $1, now 50 cents, and includes hanging baskets, custom arrangements and planters of all shapes and sizes.

 


EIGHTY PERCENT DISCOUNT ON BOOKS

Booklovers in Westminster will want to check out the moving sale at The Book Keeper, a great little family owned used-book store at 12860 Zuni St., 303-466-3559, in the Safeway shopping center that’s heading for a new site in the Orchard Town Center. Through closing day for the old store on Friday, July 31, shoppers will get an 80 percent discount on all books with the exception of collectibles. Trade credits do not apply.
