IF YOU’VE GOT THE KIDS, WE’VE GOT THE SALES
If you have children to outfit or baby gifts to stock up on, you’re in great shape to save money this week. And that’s especially true if you love products created by Colorado designers.

STUDIO BINI REAPPEARS ON SPEER FOR ONE DAY ONLY
Let’s start with the Studio Bini Open Studio Sale, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at 1022 Speer Blvd., in the Golden Triangle. If your children were born after February 2008, you might not be familiar with the colorful and whimsical kids’ clothing devoted Denverite Linde Schlumbohm used to sell through her Studio Bini stores. Schlumbohm gave up on retail but not on design. She has continued to produce her funky-yet-sophisticated creations in infant, toddler and young children’s sizes. During the Open Studio Sale, dresses, summer apparel, baby blankets and hats will be 20 percent off their retail price. The sale is behind the green door in a 1910 duplex with a large porch. (The steps might create a problem for strollers.) There’s free parking on Speer Boulevard.

SAMPLE COLORADO’S GOODS FOR KIDS
Did you know the world-famous Boppy is a Colorado product? It and other products from local mom-and-dadpreneurs are discounted by 30 percent to 80 percent at the Congrats from Colorado Sample Sale, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, at Ambajam, 3457 Ringsby Court, Taxi 2, 303-691-2236. Participants include Alpha Buddies, Ambajam, Baby Candy, Belle Baby Carriers, Boppy, Bruz Wear, The Bump, Funky Monkey Thread, Katy Tartakoff Photography, Memory Divas, Mile High Mamas, My Favorite Bows; Oh, That Baby; Oshie Vintage, ShadyBaby and Sycamore Kids.  For more information, go to www.congratsfromcolorado.com.

GROWING CHILDREN LOVE GROW
And speaking of local mompreneurs, Denver designer and Grow co-founder Verity Freebern is continuing her Web site Clothes Out Sale. All Grow’s whimsical “Sweet Pea,” “Pumpkin” and “Peanut” 100 percent cotton play clothes, originally priced at $25 to $40, are going for $10 or less on the site, www.growgrowgrow.com. Freebern is offering free shipping to Best Colorado Deals readers. To take advantage of the offer -- which is good only once -- enter the coupon code PC10301 on the checkout page when your order is complete.

KID DESIGNER DUDS REDUCED
All high-end boutique brands for girls and boys newborn to 12-14 are reduced by an additional 30 percent during the Petite Patoot Fall Preview, 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Petite Patoot, 1238 S. Broadway, 303-733-3337 -- and there’s wine, too!

GROWNUPS NEED STUFF, TOO, OF COURSE

Children don’t even know that shopping is fun, but you can rediscover its joys when you check out these events.

PRICES MELTING AWAY AT ROSEY’S
Rosey Shaw has turned the heat up a notch on her moving sale for Rosey’s at Tamarac Square, 7777 E. Hampden Ave., 303-337-7870. Her hand-picked selection of clothing is now reduced by 50 percent to 70 percent, and jewelry accessories are reduced by 40 percent to 70 percent. We recently spent some time in this terrific shop, and can testify personally to Rosey’s ability to find really cool merchandise, which is now significantly underpriced.

FLAVOR FAIR FLAUNTS FUN
Find fun and freebies at the Mile High Business Alliance Flavor Fair, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 at the Lowenstein Culture Plex, between Twist and Shout and the Tattered Cover at East Colfax Avenue between Columbine and Elizabeth streets. Visitors can get henna tattoos from MoonDance Botanicals and paint their own pottery with Ceramics in the City. The MHBA – parent to the Colorado Local First campaign – will showcase local products from Bixa, Dragonfly Eco-Goods, Bonnie's Balms, Caboodle and Anasa Naturals while Chipotle, Little Man Ice Cream and Tattered Cover Coffee hand out food. The festivities continue with sales and in-store activities at the Tattered and Twist and Shout. For more information, go to www.MileHighBiz.org.

ANTIQUE LOVERS LOVE SALLY STARR’S SALONS
American Textiles: Quilts, Coverlets and Samplers are the topic of the day from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, at Sally Starr Antiques, 2940 E. Sixth Ave., 303-399-4537, starrantiques.com. Wine and refreshments will be served, and all participants will receive a 10 percent discount on any textile purchase.
