How long will the update last?
If everything goes according to plan, the update should take less than an hour.

Will my website be down during this time?
Yes. School owners, as well as students, may experience website downtime and slowness during this timeframe.

How long will my school’s website be down?
While we’re anticipating twenty minutes of downtime, reduced performance in the form of slowness could last up to one hour for some schools. However, if all goes well, it could be significantly less time than that. You may not even notice an interruption!

Will you inform my students about the downtime?
No, we will not notify your students about this brief interruption. However, you may wish to notify both current and prospective students that they should expect to experience less than optimal performance if logging in or registering during this time.

What will people see if they try to access my school’s website?
Your website visitors will see a simple “Undergoing Scheduled Maintenance” page, letting them know the site is temporarily unavailable but will be back up shortly.

Will student payments get processed during this timeframe?
Website visitors will not be able to make purchases while your school website is offline.

How often does Teachable perform similar website maintenance?
We’re constantly improving the technology that powers the Teachable platform. The majority of updates we make go unnoticed, never interrupting the school owner or student experience. However, there are instances where certain updates require a period of website downtime.
We understand that service interruption can be an inconvenience. But, rest assured, we are making this upgrade to improve the platform’s performance -- providing an even better experience for school owners and students.
