Hi Friend,
Happy Monday! With Mother's Day just around the corner, we may all be thinking about our parents, particularly our mothers, at this time. You may even be thinking about yourself as a parent. When I counsel parents in raising their children and help with their concerns- whether it's difficulty with handling tantrums, picky eating, aggression, etc.- the subject of their own upbringing comes up. This is because, whether we like it or not, the way we were brought up has a strong influence on how we decide to raise our own children. It's our decision to follow in our parents' footsteps or not. My job is to help you create your own way, one that works best for you and your family, and provide you with the tools and resources to support you along your parenting journey.
Making conscious decisions in our parenting requires an open mind, an open heart, and a willingness to self-reflect. The truth is, the key to building a trusting relationship with our children begins with us. For these reasons, I highly recommend reading these two books. It's a great place to start.
