Subject: This new Australian Coin Error is worth more than it's weight in gold?

AustraliaCoins.org

Hey Friend

This error is fast becoming one of the new holy grails of Australian coin collecting...

Bullseye Error Image

It's called a bullseye error and it's unique to the coins with colour on them.

The colour that's meant to be on the Tails side of the coin gets stamped on the Heads side instead (over the Queen's portrait). This means that the Tails side, where the colour is meant to be, has just a normal coin surface.

This error can happen on any coloured coin. Despite all the coloured two dollar coins that have been made, only a few of these bullseye errors have surfaced so far. This error was found on one of the Mr Squiggle coins earlier this year.

What's exciting is that there has been one found on the new Police coins (as you can see in the photo above).

As this error is so rare at this stage, these coins are potentially quite valuable if you find them. So keep an eye out - this error could be on any of the coloured $2 coins.

Happy hunting - I hope you find one!

Cheers

Damian

PS The new Police $2 coins have been found mainly in Victoria so far, but the Mint is formally releasing them on the 12th of September through their coin swaps around the country. They should pop up in circulation around the country in the next few weeks and months.
