I'm not sure if you're aware - at the end of past Woolworths coin promotions (like Mr Squiggle, Possum Magic and the Commonwealth Games), once the promotion was over, staff in some stores were asked to destroy the remaining sets that they were selling. They put the $1 and $2 coins from these sets into the tills to be used as regular coins.

That meant that a lot of people were finding the $1 coins (that were intended as collector-only coins) in their change.

Why am I telling you this?

Because the Wiggles Coin promotion is just finishing, and I'm noticing a lot of stores still have the packs behind the service counter. I'm guessing that some stores will decide to empty these coins into the registers in coming weeks.

As you'd know, the $2 coins were released en masse, but not the $1 coins.

So as well as your $2 coins, make sure to check your $1 coins from Woolworths, as you may get lucky and score some of these special coins at face value. (I've included a photo below so you know what to look for).
