It has been a crazy month for coin collecting!

As you may know, there's a new $2 coin that's been released this week to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Socceroos (through Woolworths). It's a beautiful coin, as you can see from the photo below.

This coin was meant to be available in all Woolies stores from last Wednesday, but there were unusual delays and a lot of stores received the coins late (I had to visit a few stores before I found one). However, the good news is that it should be available now in most Woolworths stores.

This release is a bit different to previous Woolworths coin promotions - they normally have a carded version of the coin that you can buy, but not this time unfortunately. You can only get this coin in your change.

So ask the staff for the coins, try the self-service checkouts and I've also heard reports that some Woolworths Petrol stations have the coins.

Obviously, the best approach is to be super friendly to the staff, whether they have the coins or not. If the coins aren't available, it's not their fault. However, there are still lots of A/U/S coins from the Commonwealth Games promotion last month, so these Socceroos coins should also be available for some time to come. Please don't pay crazy prices for the coins.
