Subject: New QANTAS Coin next week...

AustraliaCoins.org

Hey Friend

This is just a quick email in case you didn't know about the new QANTAS coin and the coin swaps where you can get a fresh copy of this coin....

Why visit coin swap events?

It's an opportunity to swap boring coins (and notes) for fresh new coins from the Mint. The coins come in sealed bags, and you can get these fresh new coins for face value (ten $1 coins in a bag for $10)

There is a catch: they make you pay cash for the new coins - you can't pay for them on EFTPOS or any other cards. (There are other products you can buy at the event on card. But the coin swap is only cash for cash).

When and where?
The Mint is going to visit many Australian towns and cities throughout the year. They're starting in Brisbane and Canberra this coming Monday (February 17) and moving on from there.

This is a link to more details on my Facebook page, with a photo of the new QANTAS coin:

QANTAS Coin Swap Details

Here are a few things to make your life easier if you're heading along to a coin swap:

1. There are usually 2 lines - one to buy coins and one to swap for coins. Check which line is which to avoid wasting time in the wrong line,

2. Get there early (if possible) - they sometimes run out of coins,

3. If you want to SWAP coins, bring CASH

4. However, there are coin-sets you can buy - they'll let you pay for the sets with card.

Basically the Mint's rule is - if you can get the coin(s) for face value, they make you pay cash. If the coin costs more than face value, it's a collectible and you can pay by card.

If you're not in one of these first few cities, keep an eye on the Mint's Facebook page as they post details of their tour locations and dates throughout the year.

Otherwise, check your dollar coins for this new QANTAS coin.

Cheers

Damian
