Subject: New $2 coins available now
Hey Friend
I hope that you're doing really well!
It's a great time to be using cash - as you probably know, there have been a couple of new Two Dollar coins released this year that are starting to make it into regular circulation.
The good news is that with everyone using their tap-n-go cards there are more interesting coins for us coin collectors to find. Or that's my theory anyway. Haha.
The two coins that people (including me here in Brisbane) are starting to find in abundance are the Honey Bee coin and the Front Line Workers coin.
If you saw the 2022 annual set from the Mint, you would have seen the coloured $2 Front Line Workers coin:
It wasn't clear earlier in the year whether this coin would make it into circulation, but thankfully it has. There are batches of this coin appearing in circulation across Australia. The coin celebrates frontline workers from various industries who have protected the community during these past few crazy years.
Another coin that people are finding in circulation at the moment is the Honey Bee $2 coin - this coin looks even better in real life:
As you can imagine, it'll be a few years before we know the final mintages for these coins. However, I’m letting you know about them because it’s always nice to find fresh coins at face value before they’ve spent too much time in circulation!
(Potentially) Valuable Error to check for...
I shared a post on my Facebook page recently - it's a new example of a "mismatched colour" error. It's not my photo, so I can't show it here, but here's a link where you can check it out:

While a coin with this error *might* be valuable, unfortunately there are a few people who create and sell fake error coins, so it's worth getting coins with valuable errors graded to ensure that the error is verified and legit.
Have you found any interesting coins recently?
Cheers
Damian
