Have you heard about Australia Post's great Australian Coin Hunt?

It started this week - they're planning to release several coins every week through the Australia Post stores, starting with 6 this week.

Each coin has a letter of the alphabet, and something Australian for that letter (eg B for Boomerang, V for Vegemite). This week’s coins are the letters A, F, I, M, S and X - here are photos of these first 6 coins:

You can get one or two of these 6 coins in change when you make a purchase at Australia Post this week. There will be a different set of coins released next week. There is also a complete set Australia Post are selling at the end of the month (after the promotion), although it's unclear whether these sets will be available online or need to be ordered through Post Offices.

It definitely pays to be nice to the Australia Post staff - they have rules about how many coins they’re allowed to give out, and the nicer you are the more you’re likely to get this week and next ;)

You have to make a purchase with cash to receive the coins. Unfortunately, they’re not allowed to swap coins or give coins in cash-outs and they also have limits of coins per person, so you may need to make multiple purchases/visits.
