Subject: How To Store Your Coins So That They Are Both Safe AND Easy To View
Hey Friend
How should I store my coins?
This is a question I receive a lot. If you've ever had your coins tarnish while in storage, then you will probably be asking this question too.
As you may know, one of the biggest factors for safe coin storage is to avoid PVC plastic, or anything giving off that 'plastic smell'. I've heard horror stories from people who have opened coin collections that have been in storage for years, only to find gunk on the coins from the plastic, or that the coins have just been completely discoloured. This usually happens because they were stored with a material that damaged the coins. (Temperature and moisture can have an impact too).
We all love to get a bargain, but when it comes to storing your coins, taking a cheap option for coin storage could prove disastrous down the track. It's worth getting better quality products, if you want to make sure your coins are protected for the long term.
Thankfully, there are several products available these days that use stable materials such as acrylic or Mylar, for example SAFLIPs and Coretek. These are the materials that museum experts and archivists recommend for storing rare coins and metal pieces!
In addition to the coin flips holding your coins, you need sleeves to hold them, and the material that these are made from is just as important at the coin flips. I use BCW-branded sleeves, as these are made from Polypropylene which is also PVC-free:
New Coin Storage Kit...
To help make it easy to store your coins safely, we have put together a new coin collecting kit with carefully chosen components that keep your coins safe whilst also making them easy to look at and enjoy:

In addition to storing your coins safely, you still need to be able to easily take them out and appreciate them, so we have sourced special archive-quality folders to store your coin sleeves in (PVC-free, of course). It features a wrap-around lid that closes fully to also protect your collection from dust.
One of the key parts of this kit is the pre-printed inserts with details of all Australian coins in circulation that feature special designs. We've created 250 individual coin inserts that slide into your coin flips opposite each coin. These make it easy to keep track of your collection. It also includes blank inserts on which you can write details about your other coins (for example error/variety coins).
Refills...
If you already have a folder where you store your coins, we also have refill packs available that include the coin sleeves, coin flips and 200 blank coin information inserts:www.australiacoins.com.au/products/coin-collecting-storage-refill-kit

As I mentioned, the most important thing when it comes to coin storage is quality. While quality materials are not 'cheap', the good news is that these kits don't cost thousands of dollars.
Unfortunately we only have a limited number of copies available at the moment. Because you're one of my email readers, you get the first chance to grab a copy of the kits. If there are any copies of the kit remaining unsold at the end of next week, I'll be posting details about the kits on my Facebook and YouTube channels.
Here's a link with more info on the coin collecting kits (and a video where you can see how they work):

As always, feel free to email me if you have any queries.
Cheers
Damian
