Subject: Coin Collecting Update - LOTS of New Coins and Coin News
Hey Friend
It's a really busy week for coin collecting - here are details on what's happening...
NRL Coins - Anaconda
Now that the NRL coins have been released, I've put together a video with all the details on that set.
I've also put some tips for getting hold of these coins in the description for this video, if you don't have an Anaconda store nearby. Just click on the Play Button to check it out:
AFL Coins - Australia Post
This week, Australia Post has released a second set of AFL coins. They are very similar to last year's AFL coins. Here are the key details:
1. There are two $1 coins going into circulation - for the two different AFL premierships (AFL and AFLW). You can get these coins in your change at Australia Post stores when you pay with cash.
The 2 coins are a little easier to tell apart than they were last year:
2. There are also 18 individual team $1 coins. You can buy them as single coins ($5 each) or in a tube with all 20 coins & a folder ($45). The team coins are not going into circulation.
3. One in ten tubes has special coloured versions of the AFL and the AFLW coins. The other 9 tubes have the standard circulated versions of the AFL and AFLW coins.
4. All of the coins in this promotion are $1 coins. There are 20 coins in total, plus the 2 coloured variations of the premiership coins.
5. The heads side is the 2024 memorial Queen Elizabeth design (not King Charles yet) with the “One Dollar” denomination.
6. This year, they are selling a 2-proof-coin set of the coloured premiership coins. If you want the coloured coins, but don't want to 'try your luck' with the 1-in-10 tubes, this may be an option.
I've included a photo from the Stamp Bulletin (click on the image for a larger view):
ANDA Show in Brisbane - RAM Coin Swap
And finally, if you're in Brisbane this weekend, make sure to visit the ANDA show at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre in Nathan (What used to be called 'ANZ Stadium').
The Royal Australian Mint will be there with a coin swap, so you can exchange cash for fresh new coins. The coins they have are from 2020 to now, so it's a worthwhile event. The RAM hasn't visited Brisbane for a coin swap since the QANTAS coin in 2020, so there are likely to be a lot of different coins on offer.
Also, please stop in to say hi to me - I'll be at the "Coins and Collectables Victoria" stand with Josh. We have an exciting new item that we're launching at the show!
Stay safe, good luck in your coin hunting and keep using cash.
Cheers
Damian
