You've probably seen that there are lots of people calling for a cashless society at the moment.

While there are strong arguments for and against going completely cashless, it remains to be seen how long this will actually take.

Coin collectors are raising some interesting questions about this topic:

What will happen to coin values if we go cashless - will they go up or down?

Will school fetes and garage sales need to take EFTPOS?

Does the tooth fairy bring gift cards?

These are important questions, but impossible to answer now.

It's hard to say how long it will be before we go completely cashless.
