Me: I want hear your winsā¦ I know last time we talked more about your business, and you have some updates for me about your love life!
Client: Well, weāve been going pretty strong!
Me: Who is we?
Client: Well I guess you could call her my girlfriend.
Me: *Squealing*ā¦. āOh my godā and giggling hysterically at the same high pitch.
Client: Oh my god! I've never heard you make that sound before.
Me: Tell me about her! How did you meet?
Client: We met online on match. But since then Iāve deleted everything. Well, sheās 5ā9ā and she's athletic and used to play college ball. Sheās successful and smart and we share the same sense of humor.
Me: You mean she loves metaphors as much as you do?
Client: Yes!
Client: Iām gonna tell you somethingā¦ the stuff that you have told meā¦ I wouldnāt say to be more outgoing, but to be more myself. In other words, donāt necessarily hold back! If they like it fine, if they donāt like it thatās their problem and not yours. The clarity of those statements that you and I have gone over have really surprised meā¦. Well, theyāve surprised me because they work!
Me: *laughs evil laugh*
Client: But see I think what youāve done for me as a female telling me this stuff has more resonance than if a male told me this. If it came from a guy I donāt think it would hold that much weight.
Client: And weāve been through some rough spots and weāve smoothed them over. For instance if she doesnāt like what Iām doing Iāll ask her point blank, "Why does that bother you?" And sheās so real and sheāll say because of this, this and this!
šShe doesnāt play into me and I donāt play into her. In other words weāre looking for that reality! Whoās this real person?! š„
At first I must admit I was frightened, you were echoing stuff in the back of my head. And you said, āyou just have to do it because you canāt have a facade.ā The fakery doesnāt work anymore. And it definitely doesnāt work in the long run.
Client: Iāll tell you another thing Katya. I wouldāve run two years ago. šāāļø
I wouldāve said this is too good to be true. I donāt deserve it! Sheās too good lookingā¦ and sheās too this and too thatā¦ and I better back off and I would say things that would have her back off from the relationship. And Iām proud of myself! I didnāt do that. š„š„š„š„
Me: Wow! Holy shit! Thatās amazing!
Client: It really is! I think sheās the coolest thing and she thinks Iām the coolest thing. We give each other room. Sheās a busy woman and Iām a busy man and she doesnāt smother me.
Client: But I tell you when we get around each other...Oooooooff ā¦ love is in the air!
