Question: If Jupiter is transiting my 9th house in Taurus will it still focus on 2nd house matters of money? I never quite understood how this works.
The answer is yes, because while Jupiter is in Taurus, everyone experiences its focus on 2nd house matters on a collective level. For instance, an increase (Jupiter) in the cost of goods (second house) affects us all because we pay more for our purchases.
However, we also experience its 2nd house focus according to the house it's visiting in our horoscope, but unless it's in one of the financial houses (2nd or 8th) it's influence is subtle and tends to be overlooked.
Since Jupiter's role is to expand what it touches, while it's in your 9th house you can expect it to expand one or more of the life areas ruled by that house. In this case, it could be education and higher knowledge, beliefs, religion, legal matters, sales, marketing or long-distance travel.
As for the 2nd house money influence, opportunities to increase your knowledge, attend a spiritual retreat or embark on long-distance travel usually come with a price tag. Alternatively, an opportunity could arise that brings you money, such as a job in education or law or income from monetizing a podcast or other media.
Another way you can experience Jupiter's current 2nd house focus through your 9th house isn't financial but rather through the traits associated with its sign.
For instance, Taurus is grounded, industrious and determined. If you're engaged in a course of study while Jupiter is in your 9th house, a practical, diligent and conscientious (Taurus) approach will bring success (Jupiter).
Lastly, Taurus is a value-driven sign, so while Jupiter is in your 9th house its expansive energy shouldn't be wasted on things that aren't important. Instead, you want to work with the energy and focus it on something that is of value to you.
For those of you who are interested in applying this to your own Jupiter in Taurus house transit, below is the Jupiter in Taurus by House list, followed by a summary of the major points that you need to consider.
Keep in mind that while some life areas will make immediate sense in terms of money, others will make sense in terms of the sign's traits.
For example, in my personal horoscope transiting Jupiter in Aries was in my 12th house. Since Aries is a self-starter, this influence motivated me to take action to expand my intuitive gifts and healing abilities (12th house) through self-study, meditation, daily practice and solitude.
When Jupiter changed signs, it didn't change houses in my chart. However, its change of sign changed its influence in that house.
As it happens, I am about to take a sabbatical (12th house, expanding solitude) from astrology readings so I can focus my time and energy on courses and books and courses (tangible items) that will bring me passive (12th house) income (2nd house). Tapping into the Bull's diligence, determination, dedication and industriousness (Taurus) will help me accomplish this goal (i.e., working with the energy)
Now it's your turn. Give it a try and have some fun with it!
