Monday, Dec. 21st:Monday is quite a big day (astrologically speaking);
the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces. It will journey there
until 5:32pm EST. This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy and affection for all -- but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.
But... that very idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn't match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities. A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors.
It's also a great time for releasing fears -- especially the ones based on a sense of separation -- and experiencing "oneness". Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them -- in fact, "going with the flow" is the best way to go for the next couple of days.
Monday early morning, at 5:02am EST,
the Sun changes signs from adventurous, optimistic, truth-seeking Sagittarius to practical, accomplishment-oriented, status-oriented Capricorn. This also marks the shortest day of the year (in the northern hemisphere) and the beginning of Winter -- aka the Winter Solstice.
The Solstices are important turning points that take place twice a year: They are energetic gateways for the summer or winter season to come through. Solstice Points are thus extra-potent times to set intentions and take part in ceremonies.
The Sun will journey through the sign of Capricorn
until Jan. 20th, 2020.
Capricorn is a feet-on-the-ground, eyes-on-the-prize sign. As the Sun travels through it, we take a realistic, grounded approach to life; we know how to do things, and how to get things done.
We have a stronger sense of society and its structure, and feel most secure when doing our part within that structure; as such, worldly recognition may take on more importance for us. Making plans for the future can be very effective right now. We are more risk-averse at this time but we are ready to work hard and focus on what is essential.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Capricorn Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Capricorn, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you are more cautious and practical than usual…working towards a realistic long-term goal might be just the thing for you to do.
Monday at 5:25am EST, we enter a
Moon VoC that will last for a little over 12 hours,
until 5:32pm EST. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect to your higher Self, and if possible, bring a sense of flow and faith to your long-term plans -- especially those you feel really passionate about.
As always with a
Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday early morning until the late afternoon ahead of time.
Monday early afternoon,
a rare Jupiter/Saturn alignment in 0.5 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact at 1:21pm EST. The last time Jupiter aligned with Saturn in
Aquarius was in the year 1405!!! As for this current alignment,
we started to feel it building from Nov. 23rd on and it will remain strong until January 16th, 2021. It offers an opportunity to build long-term structures and foundations that bring about an expansion for all of humanity.
Jupiter and Saturn come together every 20 years. The last Jupiter-Saturn conjunction took place at 22º44' of
Taurus on May 28th, 2000 and the next one will be on Oct. 31st, 2040 at almost 18º of
Libra.
Since this is the beginning of a
20-year social-economic cycle, we need to plan for the collective long game; it is important to look past our enthusiasm for a greater vision for the world we live in and focus instead on visualizing practical results within groups and communities, so we feel motivated to achieve them.
We will be wise to adopt a step-by-step approach to the realization of our humanitarian goals, conduct ourselves with integrity, and employ an ethical, mature, and open-minded approach.
Our inventions and unusual approaches need to focus on long-term sustainability and group consciousness. This is how we grow and expand as people over the next 20 years.
We might also overdo our need to “achieve something great for humanity” (Jupiter does, after all, represent excess as well).
Here are some questions we could ask ourselves in connection with the Jupiter-Saturn alignment in Aquarius: Where have we been limiting ourselves, socially speaking? Where have we been wasting time? Energy? Resources? What might promote a new perspective on our social-economic goals? Or our achievements in our various communities? How might we become more tolerant and inventive when approaching life’s challenges? What humanitarian aspirations are we now ready to explore? What could we achieve in that regard over the next 20 years? How can each one of us get involved and be a part of this new future?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC) or personal planets in the following: 0-6 degrees of of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, or 27-29 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra? If so, you will feel the effects of this aspect more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius or Capricorn (Jupiter rules Sagittarius; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)
Monday at 5:32pm EST,
the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey
until Thursday morning. Life is an adventure, we're more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately.
Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body's excess energy. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (
exact later this evening).
Monday evening,
the first Quarter Moon in almost 0.5 degree of pioneering, fast-paced Aries becomes exact at 6:41pm EST.
We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Aries earlier today.
The Moon in pioneering, enthusiastic, fast-paced Aries makes a challenging aspect to the Sun practical, cautious, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn.Last week (Dec. 14th) saw a powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse in
Sagittarius. If
we set some intentions on Dec. 16th or
17th we are now ready to make some adjustments. This is a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum -- in fact, we may feel compelled to act, stirring up anxiety or overwhelm, so just go one breath at a time.
Remember, we're still in
Eclipse Season until Dec. 24th, and thus don't have all the information we need to move brand-new projects forward yet.
Allow for changes, remain flexible and adaptable, and find creative solutions in day-to-day interactions with others. Allow also for new downloads and for the release of “old” codes and conditioning. Simply put: an open mind and heart will serve us best (that's true in general, but especially true until Eclipse season ends ;-)
Another thing to remember: if something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic… allow it to be. As best as you can, observe your feelings and stay grounded in the "here and now". Connect to your intuition and inner wisdom; they will help carry you through this period. We are receiving a consciousness upgrade -- that's a good thing!
