Monday, the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day. It will journey there until Wednesday early afternoon, turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome.
We are generous with our time/services, and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world — things and knowledge we can apply and use.
Health might also come into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals.
Monday late morning, a harmonious Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 9:46am EDT. Due to Mercury’s Station-Direct period, we started to feel this aspect build on Aug. 19th; it will remain strong until this Thursday afternoon (Sept. 5th).
Due to Mercury’s retrograde phase, this aspect has become exact for the third time within the last 6.5 weeks; the first time was on July 18th, and the second was on Aug. 23rd.
Think back to those dates: What thoughts helped you to heal inner wounds? What roles did humility and open-heartedness play?
This aspect is a wonderful possibility for active healing concerning our conditioning and day-to-day thinking structures.
We can bring compassion, both for ourselves and for others, to communications that trigger us. We are able to allow for our “inner playful child” to come out in unique ways as we share ourselves — especially when it comes to our identity, personal goals, and passions.
Acceptance and understanding of our own and others’ “Human-ness ” come more easily now. Humor can be a helpful way to explore our own humanity…
We feel more confident to connect and communicate without seeing ourselves as weak or “less than”. We feel perfectly ok to be ourselves, and that may involve feeling insecure.
Ask yourself: Could I allow myself and others to be human? Could I enjoy that I am human? That other people are human?
What if I talked about my flaws, idiosyncrasies, and insecurities? How might this support my healing process? Someone else’s?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Leo, Aries, or Sagittarius? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo)
With this New Moon, we also enter Eclipse season! This will last until Oct. 24th. Eclipses ask us to recalibrate on the physical, mental, and emotional levels, which gives us a chance to move to the next level of our evolution – on a personal and collective level.
This signifies an invitation to collectively shift consciousness. We are urged to work with these powerful energies for the benefit of ourselves and those we encounter.
All three of those planets are currently also in their Retrograde motion, inviting us to focus on making inner shifts and realigning ourselves with what no longer serves us.
Uranus is the loudest of the three, urging us to redefine our connection to the physical world and our self-worth; Neptune is asking us to trust our inner guidance and connection to Source-energy; finally, Pluto is asking us to reclaim our power, and live with purpose and a passion for life.
The Sun and the Moon in Virgo are part of a T-Square with Saturn and Jupiter. These are “social planets”, linked to our social and economic contracts, agreements, and dynamics.
And then we come to Mercury, the messenger, ruler of Virgo, also currently exalted. He is quite involved in this New Moon chart as well.
Virgo provides an opportunity to learn about being of service — and what it might mean to strengthen our focus on improving our daily routines — getting organized, for example — and taking care of health matters.
Ask yourself: Could I release judgment from my life (starting with self-judgment)? Could I instead take a deep breath and discern what works and what doesn’t? What might this look like if I stayed completely neutral?
Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 9-13 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 9:56pm Monday late evening (Sept. 2nd) and 9:56pm on Wednesday late evening, Sept. 4th (New York time). The only exception will be a brief 6-minute period from 12:06 – 12:12pm on Wednesday, Sept. 4th.
