This week's headline items: Venus changes signs from Scorpio to Sagittarius on Monday morning, Uranus is still exalted all week (since it is still stationing); and the first Quarter Moon in Aries becomes exact on Sunday night.
Also, we can start setting our Solar Eclipse Intentions on Monday evening; if we don't get a chance to do it by Tuesday evening, we'll have another chance on Wednesday afternoon.
There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday very early morning (for 26 minutes), Wednesday early afternoon (for almost 3 hours) and Friday late morning (for almost 18 hours). |

Now, this week’s Forecast -- Monday Jan. 7th:
Monday (Jan. 7th): the Moon remains practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 1:46am EST. At 1:20am EST, we enter a very brief Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for 26 minutes, until 1:46am EST. This intuitive time could be a good time to connect with others on a deeper level.
If you are awake, take the opportunity to collaborate with others, and bring a new level of focus and authenticity to your long-term goals. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday very early morning ahead of time. Monday at 1:46am EST, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Wednesday afternoon. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual. Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount. Monday at 6:18am EST, Venus changes signs from intense, all-or-nothing Scorpio to adventurous, freedom-loving Sagittarius. It will journey there until Feb. 3rd; until then, we feel more social, and inclined especially to connect to people from different backgrounds and countries. We like to explore new things, whether food or social gatherings: if it's exotic, it's great! We are more likely to take some risks now with others, and to say what's on our mind. Our relationships need to be connected to adventure -- a trip might be just the thing. Getting away from our routines and exploring life... hey, why not? :-) Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more adventurous and spontaneous for the next 3.5 weeks; your heart will want to explore new things and get a new perspective on life. If you are a Sagittarius Sun-sign or Rising-sign, for as long as Venus is in your sign, you will attract more love, abundance and beauty into your life.
Last but not least, Monday after 8:28pm EST, you have all evening and tomorrow (Tuesday) all day to set your Solar Eclipse Intentions. Make them powerful: after all, they cover the next six months -- and if possible, align them with the Capricorn energy I spoke of in my Solar Eclipse video (feel free to watch it again if you need a refresher — click here to watch ;-) If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast-time), and converting timezones isn't your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Fanpage and/or following me on Twitter. I will be posting reminders over the next three days, to let you know when it is time to set your intentions ;-) For more info on how to best set your Solar Eclipse Intentions, click here to read my article on the subject. This Solar Eclipse reminds us that to be fully alive requires us to be aware and conscious, and show up as a responsible citizen of the world. So, while writing your intentions, ask yourself: What if I simply released outdated, rigid structures in my life? Might that free me to create a more authentic connection with my long-term goals? And if I did that... might it just possibly help me create something sustainable, not just for me, but for generations to come? Tuesday, Jan. 8th: Tuesday (Jan. 8th): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Monday very early morning for details). Tuesday early morning: If you are already awake at this time, it is an opportunity to connect with others and explore the things that can bring you progress. Also, Tuesday early morning, a challenging Mercury/Mars aspect becomes exact at 5:05am EST. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Friday evening (Jan. 4th) on; it will remain strong until this Friday evening. This aspect brings some juicy energy to our conversations. This is a chance to have some discussions that have been overdue. As best as you can, make it a productive discussion that serves you and others -- a win-win -- otherwise you might feel really awful afterwards. Also, watch out on the road for crazy drivers… rushing might not necessarily get us there faster ;-) Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-8 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Libra or Cancer? If so, you will feel the effects of this aspect more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries). Wednesday, Jan. 9th: Wednesday (Jan. 9th): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius until 2:44pm EST (see Monday very early morning for details). Wednesday at 11:53am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for almost 3 hours, until 2:44pm EST. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect with others, exchange information, and move personal projects forward. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday early afternoon until the afternoon ahead of time. Wednesday at 2:44pm EST, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Saturday early morning. This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy, and affection for all -- but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog. But... that very idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn't match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities. A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors. It's also a great time for releasing fears -- especially the ones based on a sense of separation -- and experiencing "oneness". Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them -- in fact, "going with the flow" is the best way to go for the next couple of days. Also, on Wednesday after 2:44pm EST, there is still time for you to set your Solar Eclipse Intentions if you haven't already done so; you have until 8:28pm EST. This is your last chance to do so during the most potent time... Click here to also watch my Solar Eclipse video; it will help you align your intentions with the Eclipse energies. You can also see Monday's entry for more details on what to do and when ;-) Thursday, Jan. 10th: Thursday (Jan. 10th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Wednesday afternoon for details). Thursday morning, we have the opportunity to bring a gentler, more compassionate approach to our thinking patterns, especially in regards to achieving things out there in the world. Thursday late afternoon, we get an opportunity to be wholly present -- and also to focus on practicalities and long-term plans. As best as you can, bring a sense of flow and faith to your business dealings. Thursday early evening, we feel a need to go within and slow down -- and at the same time, we also want to move fast and have new experiences. This tension clearly invites us to stretch a little, and to seek resolution via creative solutions -- the key here is to listen to our intuition, so we don't drive ourselves or others crazy. Thursday evening, we feel more sensitive and need to slow down a little. This is a great time for spiritual or creative endeavors. Energy work, or anything that requires our intuitive side, will work best for the next several hours. Friday, Jan. 11th:Friday (Jan. 11th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Wednesday afternoon for details). Friday morning, a Sun/Pluto alignment in almost 21 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 6:38am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Monday evening on; it will be strong until next week, Monday (Jan. 14th). This alignment asks of us that we reclaim our authority and make some fundamental changes in our world. Some of the structures that we built in the past may no longer be solid; they must fall now, to be replaced with something that empowers us. It is necessary to redefine feminine and masculine “powers”. What do you need to acknowledge or embrace? What is rejected or ignored? If you truly had choice in the matter, what kind of future would you want to step into? Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra? If so, you may be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun is the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio) Friday mid-late morning, we have the opportunity to be guided by inspiration, and fully commit to a project or task that might serve us long-term. As best as you can, listen and trust to the subtle messages in your heart, that stir you towards success. Friday at 9:25am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for 18 hours, until 3:18am EST (Saturday very early morning). This intuitive time provides an opportunity to look at our ability to go within, get in touch with our inner divinity, and bring that to our long-term commitments. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday all day until Saturday very early morning ahead of time. Saturday, Jan. 12th:Saturday (Jan. 12th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces and VoC until 3:18am EST. At that time, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until next week Monday early afternoon (Jan. 14th). Life is an adventure, we're more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately. Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body's excess energy. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact Sunday night/Monday very early morning- Jan. 13/14th). Saturday afternoon, starts out harmoniously and with an urge to connect with others and explore something new that helps us understand the bigger picture all around. Saturday evening: we feel energized (and impulsive) and have even greater enthusiasm for something we feel passionate about. As best as you can, be yourself without offending others. Sunday, Jan. 13th: Sunday (Jan. 13th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Saturday very early morning for details). Sunday morning, a Mercury/Saturn alignment in almost 13 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 8:31am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday evening on; it will remain strong until next week, Tuesday (Jan. 15th). This connection strengthens our ability to make realistic decisions connected to our need for achievement and mastery. We are more able to come from a place of integrity and maturity when planning anything long-term. We prefer to have serious conversations with others that move us forward, closer to a common goal. It's an excellent period for reviewing, reassessing, perfecting, and improving our thinking patterns, long-term goals, and path towards mastery. Even though we might have a more negative or critical outlook initially, this alignment serves the purpose of reaching a balanced, mature, and realistic state. Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC) or personal planets in 10-16 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn). Sunday afternoon: the first Jupiter/Neptune square of the year becomes exact at 1:58pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Dec. 30th on; it will remain strong until Jan. 31st. This challenging Jupiter/Neptune aspect in almost 14.5 degrees of Sagittarius/Pisces invites us to be more aware of our current connection to the divine and what we believe about it. It heightens our imagination, intuition, and compassion -- but it could also make us more susceptible to fantasy, wishful thinking, or escapism. What makes this particular combo highly unusual is that both planets are in their own sign for the first time since 1853! This of course amplifies the energies between them; this could leave us feeling restless, uneasy, and possibly impatient. This aspect asks us to grow by stretching in two seemingly irreconcilable directions: On the one hand, Sagittarius points us toward exploring life via our mind (or via our body in motion) to experience a sense of expansion and growth -- and on the other hand, Pisces points us toward connecting internally to our intuition, sensing things (inside and around us), and letting our imagination go wild. Ask yourself: What if my truths applied to me only? How might this contribute to my inner peace? What might be possible if I allowed myself to shift from my conditioning to feeling into the truth of who I am? What does "spiritual expansion" mean to me? The challenge with this particular Square is fast vs. slow, extroverted vs. introverted, outer engagement with life vs. inner engagement with intuitive Self; it's also about burning lots of energy as we explore life vs. a need for rest and inner peace, achieved through acceptance and communion with our inner divinity (we may want to make time for all of the above...) As best as you can, explore your conditioning and programming: What messages did I receive from my parents around my intuitive gifts, divine connection to Self, or creative aspirations? How about from teachers? Religion? The culture(s) I grew up in? How does my actual experience differ from those messages? Where am I ready to expand beyond old programming? Which one of my "filters" could I do without for a while, just as an exercise in freedom? Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-18 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini, or Virgo? If so, you will be more affected by this opposition. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius or Pisces (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius; Neptune rules Pisces) Sunday night/Monday very early morning, at 1:46am EST, the first Quarter Moon in almost 24 degrees of Aries becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Aries, Saturday very early morning. The Moon in pioneering, enthusiastic, fast-paced Aries makes a challenging aspect to the Sun practical, cautious, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn.Last week (Jan. 5th) saw a powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse. If we set some intentions on Jan. 7th, 8th or 9th, we are now ready to make some adjustments. This is a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum -- in fact, we may feel compelled to act, stirring up anxiety or overwhelm, so just go one breath at a time. Remember, we're still in Eclipse Season until Jan. 30th, and thus don't have all the information we need to move brand-new projects forward yet. Allow for changes, remain flexible and adaptable, and find creative solutions in day-to-day interactions with others. Allow also for new downloads and for the release of “old” codes and conditioning. Simply put: an open mind and heart will serve us best (that's true in general, but especially true until Eclipse season ends ;-) Another thing to remember: if something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic… allow it to be. As best as you can, observe your feelings and stay grounded in the "here and now". Connect to your intuition and inner wisdom; they will help carry you through this period. We are receiving a consciousness upgrade -- that's a good thing! Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 22-26 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Libra or Cancer? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer) And... A heads up for next Monday (Jan. 14th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 1:31pm EST (see Saturday very early morning for details- Jan 12th). In the morning, a harmonious Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 8:13am EST; we started to feel this aspect from Jan. 12th on; it will remain strong until Jan. 16th. At 10:56am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for a little over 2.5 hours, until 1:31pm EST; as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow- you may also want to plan Monday late morning/early afternoon ahead of time. And at 1:31pm EST; the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Wednesday evening. More about the details in next week’s forecast. :) One More Announcement:
