This week's headline items:
the Uranus station intensifies on Monday (and Mars changes signs from Pisces to Aries that evening), Mercury changes signs from Sagittarius to Capricorn on Friday, the Solar Eclipse in Capricorn becomes exact on Saturday, and Uranus comes to a halt on Sunday afternoon.

There will only be two
Moon VoC phases this weekTuesday early evening (for 10.5 hours) and Friday early afternoon (for a little over an hour).
Now, this week’s Forecast:

Monday (Dec. 31st): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day. It journeys there until Wednesday early morning. We feel things deeply and have "X-Ray Vision" and "Bullshit-Smelling Abilities" ;-)

Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever... as long as our trust is never betrayed.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs by a process of subtraction -- it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It's thus an excellent time to look at "old" fears, limiting habits or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.

In Scorpio, the Moon tends to run right over ambiguity -- it's "in or out", "with us or against us", "love me or leave me". It can be stormy -- a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we "work" the energies :-)

Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so best as you are able, be straightforward -- act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings -- no matter if they're "polite" or "timely". Feelings aren't facts, but they are information -- and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.

Know thyself -- and love thyself -- you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and that's ultimately what disempowers us and others.

Monday late evening, at 9:20pm EST, Mars changes signs from sensitive, creative Pisces, to pioneering, enthusiastic Aries. Mars will journey through this fiery sign until Feb. 14th, 2019. Mars has an almost two year cycle; it last traveled through Aries in late January until early March 2017. Was there a significant new beginning for you back then?

For those next six and a half weeks, we will have a strong drive for fast forward motion; our first instinct is for action. Spontaneity is an asset, as are simplicity and innovation. We like the fresh start; there will very likely be new ideas, pioneering action and "fresh" projects abounding.

We enjoy challenges with this placement, so we are happy to take on something bigger than usual -- maybe a new, more demanding job or relationship. Our physical energy is great, but we may lose our initial enthusiasm quickly.

We are not likely to beat around the bush now; a direct approach is definitely favored. Things to watch out for: impatience; getting irritated by other people's indirectness; being insensitive to other people's needs or approaches.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries? If so, you will feel quite energized by this placement. Your physical energy will be tremendous, you are going to feel unstoppable. The only thing to watch out for: physical burnout.

Also on Monday, the Uranus station intensifies in 28.5 degrees of Aries, until Jan. 11th, 2019. It will come to a complete halt on Sunday (Jan. 6th) in 28.5 degrees of Aries, ending its 5-month retrograde phase (more about that on Sunday...). When an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced, and this can sometimes cause discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet's energy picks up speed again around Jan. 14th (when the station phase has ended).

Definitely expect the unexpected. Uranus is all about breaking away from traditional structures and moving towards a new future -- one that serves others as well as ourselves. Its keyword is "Freedom": this aspect provides an opportunity to discover how free we actually feel. So... how free do you feel? ;-)

As best as you can for the next two weeks, pull whatever is "in your face" even closer and take a good long look at it: our intuition will be very strong and deliver sudden insights and ideas, especially around what needs to change in our lives. What if you expressed your individuality to the fullest? What does the "larger vision" look like? Where is the obstacle?

Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet -- so don't be surprised by interruptions or short-term failures in these areas. Group activities are likewise ruled by Uranus, so these will move more to the forefront of awareness.

As best as you can during this aspect, stay open and flexible, go with the flow -- and pay attention to messages from the Universe ;-)

Is your Sun-sign or Ascendant in Aquarius? Or perhaps your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 26-29 degrees of Aries, Libra, CapricornCancer or 0-1 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you are more affected by this station.

Tuesday (Jan. 1st): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Monday for details). Happy New Year! Are you curious what 2019 will bring? To get my 120 minute webinar about 2019: A Look Ahead, click here.

Tuesday late morning, we feel good about making deeper connections; we'll have an opportunity to become fully committed to a project or task, something that might serve us long-term.

Tuesday at 5:26pm EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for 10.5 hours, until 3:58am EST (Wednesday early morning). Use this intuitive time to connect with yourself or others on a deeper level; look for relationships that empower you with people that share your values.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday early evening until Wednesday early morning ahead of time.

Tuesday night/Wednesday very early morning, we are capable being compassionate and forgiving with ourselves and others. A gentle approach is best.

Wednesday (Jan. 2nd): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio and VoC until 3:58am EST (see Monday and Tuesday early evening for details).

Tuesday night/Wednesday very early morning, a Sun/Saturn alignment in almost 11.5 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 12:50am EST. We started to feel this aspect from last week, Saturday (Dec. 29th) on; it will remain strong until this Friday evening (Jan. 4th). This alignment brings a more serious tone to our commitments with our long-term goals -- it's a time when we are called upon to "get real".

This is especially true for long-term projects that require diligence and self-discipline, but also applies to anything that requires consistency and a mature approach. We are motivated by the desire to manifest tangible results. We are able to focus and work hard right now, especially if we have a goal in mind, welcoming a sense of discipline, structure or order.

Recommended at this time: making new commitments to old goals, taking care of our responsibilities, making careful use of anything that's within our control.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career point (or any personal planets) in 8-15 degrees Capricorn, CancerAries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this alignment more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn).

Wednesday early morning, at 3:58am EST, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Friday afternoon. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.

We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is key, we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.

Wednesday morning: we have lots of energy and an enthusiastic attitude towards life. What could you do today that has the potential to bring some excitement to your day?

Thursday (Jan. 3rd): the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Wednesday early morning for details).

Thursday early evening, a challenging Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 5:42pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday evening on; it will remain strong until Saturday evening. This combination might bring up some insecurities in our verbal, in-person or email interactions.

That said, this could also be an opportunity for healing; we are energized to move past harsh criticism of ourselves or others, towards more loving and compassionate structures for thinking and communicating. As best as you can, stretch yourself -- and be open to bringing love and understanding to it all (and that includes you) :-)

For those of you who want to have a better understanding of your personal healing journey, feel free to get the mp3-recording of my Chiron workshop: "Healing with Astrology" Click here for more info. Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point or any personal planets in the following: 25-29 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or 0-1 degree of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, or Libra? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).

Thursday evening, after 8:28pm EST: we are now within 48 hours of the Eclipse. Allow for the new templates to download, stay centered, and do your best to ground from within -- try using conscious breathing, flexibility -- and best of all, see if you can move to the “observer position” when it comes to the emotional and mental body…

There is some potent energy coming our way -- prepare yourself to be transformed by it, by allowing for the consciousness upgrade to be installed.

This is a good time to slow things down and go within. For many of us, this will be a stretch, as we want to do just the opposite: we'd rather jump the gun on something new. This is quite common right before a Solar Eclipse. As best as you can, stay grounded, take a deep breath, exhale any tensions... and connect to your inner wisdom.

It all comes down to this: just for now and just as best as you can... could you simply allow what is... simply "to be"? Could you simply hang out as the “observer” until the upgrade is complete?

Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing things. The last Solar Eclipse in Capricorn was in late December of 2000. Think back to that time (if you can :-) — what did you start around then? How could you complete it or move to the next level?

As best as you can, take the days immediately before and after the Eclipse for meditation, walks in nature, creative or spiritual endeavors — anything that supports going within and tapping into your inner divinity. Of course if, like most of us, you have other obligations, find other ways (f you possibly can) to get quiet and be with your higher Self -- even if that just means "taking a breather" here and there.

Thursday night/Friday very early morning, a harmonious Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 12:13am EST. We started feeling this aspect from Tuesday evening on; it will be strong until Saturday evening. This aspect supports a connection between our higher mind and our day-to-day mind. We are able to receive inspiration from higher places and maybe even look into the future.

We are able to communicate our vision for a better future; insights arise from these communications. Original, creative insights and ideas can appear out of nowhere; as best as you can, stay open to these unique "downloads" -- they might change how you see and proceed with life ;-)

This is a good time to communicate online, engage in computer-related activities or scientific projects, and also for anything metaphysical. Group activities like Meetups are great things to be involved with right now -- especially if they allow us to share our vision for a better future.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 25-29 degrees of Sagittarius, Aries, Leo or 0-1 degree of Capricorn, Taurus, or Virgo? If so, you will feel especially blessed by this connection. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)

Friday (Jan. 4th): the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 1:55pm EST (see Wednesday early morning for details).

Friday at 12:41pm EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for a little over an hour, until 1:55pm EST. Use this intuitive time to connect with others (and with yourself) through exploration of something exciting. Could you look at the bigger picture? Take a broader-minded approach? What if you also communicated your enthusiasm, new found perspective, or new approach?

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday early afternoon ahead of time.

Friday at 1:55pm EST, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until next week, Monday very early morning - Jan. 7th. We tend to be more realistic, serious, cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.

Our ambition surges and brings with it a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)

Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn; it is currently transiting through its own sign, making this a great time to take look at your long-term aspirations and anything that you would like to master over the next three years. It's also a great time to take a more serious look at our strategies for self-mastery.

For starters: Do you truly see "what's so" in your life (as opposed to what you merely wish it to be, or what you would like it to be, or where you see yourself going, etc)? What is actually so right now? Once you have a handle on where "A" is, it's easier to "go from A to B" -- whether "B" is self-mastery or standing on the mountaintop. This Moon phase brings us closer to the New Moon/Solar Eclipse (exact Saturday late evening).

Friday afternoon, an opportune Sun/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 2:57pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday evening on; it will remain strong until Sunday evening. This aspect is an opportunity both to dissolve what no longer serves us, and to connect to our intuition. We definitely feel inspired. It’s also a great time to bring a sense of flow and faith to long-term plans.

Our capacity for compassion (both toward ourselves and others) is quite strong, especially if we are able to acknowledge it. Dreams and reality find a way to work together now -- any spiritual or creative endeavors that are started during this time will most likely do very well -- and it feels great to donate time or money to favored causes.

Remember that this is an "opportunity" -- it isn't just handed to us, we have to make it happen.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-16 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules Leo; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).

Friday late evening, at 10:40pm EST, Mercury changes signs from optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius to practical, accomplishment-oriented, status-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Jan. 24th.

This is a time when our minds like to make concrete plans for the future. A systematic, practical approach to reaching our goals is now favored; we are good at focusing on practical matters and getting down to the essentials.

We do not waste any words at this time -- what we say is truthful and to the point. We see reality very clearly now -- and it might not look as rosy as we thought. As best as you can, use this time to get in touch with what's real in your life -- without going down the "rabbit hole" of pessimistic inadequacy ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will be more serious and possible more eager to accomplish concrete goals. Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign in Capricorn? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty for the next 3 weeks.

Saturday (Jan. 5th): the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Friday afternoon for details).

Saturday early afternoon, a harmonious Venus/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 1:00pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday evening on; it will remain strong until Monday evening (Jan. 7th) . This brings the ability for compassion and understanding towards others. We are able also to heal some wounds from the past.

We are more willing to be vulnerable, as we trust that the other person has our best interest at heart. We also more easily allow for our own humanity and limitations as we relate to others and are more forgiving towards them and ourselves. How does this show up for you?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 25-29 degrees of Scorpio, Pisces, Cancer or 0-1 degree of Sagittarius, Aries, or Leo? If so, you are more blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra).

Saturday evening, at 8:28pm EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in almost 15.5 degrees of Capricorn, launching both a new Moon and a new Eclipse cycle. Feel free to also watch my video on the subject.

Eclipses take place approximately every 6 months; Solar Eclipses are extra-powerful New Moons that end one 18-19 year cycle and begin another — the last South Node Solar Eclipse in Capricorn was on Dec. 25th, 2000.

We are likely to experience a resonance between now and that time — "resonant", rather than identical — so think back to the Winter of 2000/2001: Were there any major endings and beginnings? What was important back then? If you were to take those priorities to the next level, where would that next level be?

If you're looking for more guidance on those questions, I would suggest taking a look at your Natal Chart: The House placement of the Eclipse will indicate which areas of life are most ready to go to a new level of consciousness.

If you want to hear more about the upcoming Eclipses in relationship to your own birth chart,  join us live on Jan.15th for our next Forecasting Forum!

Star and SuperStar Members are automatically registered and will receive an email on the day of the webinar to join live, as well as a video-presentation of the Forum within 24 hours of the live event.

This particular Eclipse cycle in the Capricorn/Cancer polarity started back in July of 2018 with the North Node Solar Eclipse in Cancer; this is its first South Node Solar Eclipse in Capricorn. South Node Eclipses can help us release energies or attachments that no longer serve our Soul’s evolution. We get to redefine how we are moving with this particular energy in our lives.

As far as the end of the last Eclipse cycle is concerned, you could investigate: What have I discovered about Self-care since July? How have I been doing when it comes to taking care of my emotional well-being? What emotional "needs" were calling out to be met?

As far as this next Eclipse cycle is concerned, the day of the Eclipse is a good time to go within, to seed anything we would like to accomplish for the next 6 month (and maybe even beyond); the next section of this forecast will dig in to this in more detail...

This is the first New Moon and Solar Eclipse of the year; since Capricorn represents the quest for mastery on the physical plane, some useful questions you can ask yourself include:

What is my relationship to the physical? Do I respect the laws of matter? Am I going about things in a realistic way? How committed am I really? Where does my inner compass point? What am I willing to undergo to overcome adversity?

The highest vibration of Capricorn is the development of responsibility, resourcefulness, reliability, self-mastery, and the ability to set realistic goals and healthy boundaries. The next 6 months are a perfect time to work on these areas, consciously.

As best as you can, prepare for the future, make commitments and recognize responsibilities -- in other words, nurture your dreams in a realistic manner. Focus on setting and achieving practical and attainable long-term goals, one step at a time, one day at a time -- this is not about immediate results -- it's about the quality of the foundation you are building.

Capricorn also invites us to set the kind of realistic limits and boundaries that allow everyone involved to learn from the consequences of their choices. Ask yourself: Where am I able to set realistic limits and boundaries? Where have I not been able before now? If those lapses were about fear, what might I be afraid of? If those fears came to pass, what would be the worst of that?

Capricorn relates directly to the level of our maturity: We start out on a more instinctual, survival level; this stage is basically fear-based, with a scarcity mentality.

Once we get better at living on the earth plane -- once we understand the rules better -- we transition to goal-oriented ambition and self-challenge, seeking recognition and rewards. This phase is still sometimes fear-based, but we are taking more responsibility for our part, and are manifesting on the physical plane.

Eventually, as we grow spiritually and learn more about the laws of matter, earthly ambitions are often replaced by some form of spiritual service. We recognize that personal gain is not the only (or even the highest) goal -- we see that when we contribute to others, we are also giving to ourselves -- perhaps we also surpass the physical appearance of separation and connect to life in it's highest form. At this level, we are living in pure accordance with our conscience, from a place of maturity and inner guidance.

Ask yourself: What if I developed 5% more discipline? 5% more integrity? What if I demonstrated 5% more commitment towards something that aligns both with myself and with life itself? What would 100% responsibility for my life look like? What if I responded to all life situations in a way that respects and serves all those involved?

This New Moon/Solar Eclipse aligns with Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn and sextiles Neptune in Pisces.

First let's focus on the alignment with Saturn and Pluto: This conveys an extra-potent message about our perception of physical reality -- i.e. time and space -- and about our relationship to structure, discipline, power )or feeling empowered) around our long-term goals. These messages apply to us individually and collectively.

Ask yourself: If I truly had choice in the matter, what is the future I would choose? Who would I choose to connect with? What would those connections bring about? Who would I choose notto connect with? What about those connections would not serve that chosen future? What else would I choose to eliminate from my life?

Saturn in conjunction with the New Moon advises us to choose realistically. Ask yourself: Am I true to myself? Does the progress justify the effort? Am I in touch with my limitations and abilities when it comes to building something long-term?

Capricorn, and its ruler Saturn, have been long associated with karma; this is simply about understanding the laws of cause and effect: "What I put into something is what I get out of it. As I sew, so shall I reap." Ask yourself (and be really honest with yourself here): Am I doing whatever it takes? Am I realistic about time, and the use of time? Am I realistic when it comes to my ambitions and long-term goals?

With this many planets in Capricorn, it is important for us to take breaks, or at least slow down and allow ourselves to tune in; it's also important to stay grounded. Seek tools or people that help you perform a truthful exploration of your abilities and limitations.

Saturn in Capricorn wants us to work hard and put our energies into practical, useful, and meaningful projects. It reminds us to live in the here and now. This "here and now" is about building a solid foundation -- understanding that moderation and patience is necessary for our spiritual growth -- and our physical accomplishments as well. Ask yourself: What daily practice might bring about a masterful result?

Now let's talk about the sextile to Neptune (the energy of universal love, intuition and compassion): This combo gives us an opportunity to bring a compassionate approach to the building of those long-term goals. We can accept the timing of things more easily, allow ourselves to trust to a slower paced and more feminine approach to things -- tuning in, allowing for an intuitive understanding of our goals and next steps, etc.

Ask yourself: What if I could be both more productive and more gentle with myself at the same time? What might a compassionate approach make possible?

Given that it rules Capricorn, Saturn's placement in its own sign plays an important role with this Eclipse and for the rest of the year -- and if you'd like to know more about how Saturn's journey in Capricorn will impact you personally until March 2020, feel free to get my webinar on the subject, available for purchase here.

We also discussed what's to come for all of the signs for the whole of 2019 in quite a bit of detail, and how that all relates to our natal charts in our preview webinar for 2019 A Look Ahead — to purchase this 120 minute webinar, click here or for a quick preview check out this 15-minute excerpt of the webinar. Get a 40% discount, when you purchase both of these webinars before Jan. 10th! Saturn also conjunct Mercury while in Capricorn. This reminds us of the power of our minds -- that our thoughts and words matter -- ask yourself: Where am I going, career-wise? What is the long-term plan? How can I honor and share those goals with others in a clear and honest way?

It's time to think seriously about what no longer works. As best as you can, investigate your thought processes -- here are some questions that could help frame that process:

What no longer feels useful in my approach? What if I got real about that? What might be possible if I took 5% more responsibility for my inner dialog?

Mercury in Capricorn also squares Mars in Aries. This could cause us to feel impatient; no matter what you do, definitely keep in mind that "rushing might not necessarily get me there any faster". That said, this aspect also offers a chance to have some discussions that may be overdue.

Ask yourself: Where besides career and other long-term goals could I channel my impatient, masculine energies into something productive and satisfying? What does a productive discussion look like? Where might focused  energy create a win-win?

Uranus is exalted in this Eclipse chart, as it will go direct (ending its 5-month retrograde phase) the day after the Eclipse becomes exact on Jan. 6th (more about that on Sunday).

Venus in Scorpio trines Chiron in Pisces. This gives us a chance to heal our collective wounds around any sense of spiritual disconnection in a world that is so focused on accomplishments and connect more deeply with others. Ask yourself: What if I forgave myself and others for having flaws or limitations?

To sum all of this up: We are invited to become mature, responsible planetary citizens, while honoring our individuality -- in other words, people who make a difference, one by one -- even when it seems as though we are too little to create a big shift on our own. No matter how small an action may seem, every pebble makes a ripple...

Inner strength and self-reliance come almost entirely from adversity; obstacles are the mirror that life uses to show us where we might become more capable, and where we have drifted from contact with outer reality or inner truth. Ask yourself: Am I on the right track? Am I walking my own path? Or someone else's?

What obstacles can I see or sense from here? What if there was value in those obstacles? Could I send them gratitude for them showing me where I need to get back into greater alignment with myself and reality?

Eclipses are a time for clarifying and affirming our highest path. We are bound to experience a release of some sort -- and a recalibration: “Old” codes will get deleted and new ones downloaded -- especially in connection with practical and intuitive intelligence.

As best as you can, allow yourself to be in a quiet, receptive state on the day of the Eclipse. If, like most of us, you have other obligations, simply take 5 minute breaks here and there, if you possibly can -- get quiet and be with yourself -- your higher Self. What might become possible if you gave this to your body and mind on a regular basis?

Between now and Jan. 30th, allow for the new templates to download; stay centered and do your best to ground from within -- try using conscious breathing and conscious flexibility -- and best of all, see if you can move to the “observer position” when it comes to the emotional and mental body… And remember: this won't last forever -- in another four weeks, the downloads are complete ;-)

Choose wisely for 2019 and beyond. Participate consciously in the evolution of existence on this planet, not from fear, but from knowledge of your inner strength and personal power -- the power of your heart and your humanity! Trust your inner truth! Again, feel free to also watch my video on the subject.

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 10-21 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you are more affected by this powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse; the same is true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer).

Setting Intentions for a Solar Eclipse is a little different from the regular monthly New Moon process -- after all, we are setting those intentions for the whole 6-month Eclipse cycle, rather than just for the next 28 days. It is best to set our Intentions 48 hours after the Solar Eclipse becomes exact, and not during a Moon VoC.

The best and most potent times to set your S.E. Intentions is therefore any time between 8:28pm on Monday, Jan. 7th and 11:53am on Wednesday, Jan. 9th, and then again from 2:44pm until 8:28pm on Jan. 9th (that's Eastern Time in the US -- the New York time zone).

Make them powerful -- after all, they cover the next six months -- and if possible, align them with the Capricorn energy!

If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast-time), and converting timezones isn't your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook page and/or following me on Twitter. I will post reminders next week to let you know when it is time to set your intentions ;-)

This Solar Eclipse reminds us that to be fully alive requires us to be aware and conscious, and show up as a responsible citizen of the world. So, while writing your intentions, ask yourself: What if I simply released outdated, rigid structures in my life? Might that free me to create a more authentic connection with my long-term goals? And if I did that... might it just possibly help me create something sustainable, not just for me, but for generations to come?

Saturday late evening, a somewhat challenging Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 9:28pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Friday morning on; it will remain strong until Sunday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.

Learning to let go of the past means being willing to release relationships we have outgrown. Learning ways to abruptly alter our circumstances without emotional turmoil: This is the way Uranus’s energy urges us to grow. We need freedom "within" our relationships, not "from" them.

It's also time to reevaluate the ways we've imprisoned ourselves in protective behaviors and then rebel against them. While "Different" is not always "improved", change is essential to our evolutionary process.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 27-29 degrees of Scorpio, or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius)

Sunday (Jan. 6th): the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Friday afternoon for details).

Sunday morning, our focus intensifies -- we might even get a little obsessed with a project or task -- as best as you can, take breaks and don't forget to practice a little self-care ;-)

Sunday afternoon, at 3:27pm ESTUranus comes to a halt in 28.5 degrees of Aries, turning direct again after its 5-month retrograde phase. We've had 5 months to reevaluate certain things: goals, group causes, issues around freedom. We've also reflected on our vision for the future, and where the obstacles to that vision might lie.

We are now ready to take into the world all that we have learned and make some progress. Uranus will be back to its usual speed by Jan. 14th; at that point you could say its “Change or be changed” -- change is inevitable, so it might as well be change you’ve chosen consciously. Note that Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet; these may all be influenced by the planet's slower movement.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 27-29 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn or 0-1 degrees of Taurus, ScorpioLeo, or Aquarius. If so, you felt this station phase quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius (Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius).

Sunday late evening, we have an opportunity for healing when it comes to our need for accomplishments; a gentler, more compassionate approach is key!

Also, Sunday late evening, we are invited to make adjustments and find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations. As best as you can, make space for pursuing both your vision and your current commitments -- flexibility is key ;-)

A heads up for next Monday (Jan. 7th): the Moon remains practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 1:46am EST (see Friday early afternoon - Jan 4th for details). At 1:20am EST, we enter a very brief Moon Void of Course (VoC), that last for 26 minutes, until 1:46am EST; as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. At that time, 1:46am EST, the Moon moves into Aquarius, where it will journey until Wednesday afternoon. At 6:18am EST, Venus changes signs from intense, all-or-nothing Scorpio to adventurous, freedom-loving Sagittarius. It will journey there until Feb. 3rd. At 8:28pm EST, it is time to set our New Moon/Solar Eclipse Intentions! More about the details in next week’s forecast :)
