News & Opportunities for Artists and Creatives of Fairfield County

March 2022

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

Sonia Bombart is an abstract artist, painter and a ceramist. She creates 2-dimensional paintings in which she captures ethereal moments that she calls dreamscapes. They convey an emotional response to color palette and intensity. She also works with sprays and airbrush to achieve the results of combined graffiti ad brushstroke. The marks that she imprints in her canvases or paper are frequently lyrical and freeform with a juxtaposition of some controlled moves. WEBSITE

Ruben Marroquin studied weaving at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and at the National Textile Workshop in Paris. He started his career as an artist while studying painting at the Reverón Fine Arts School in Caracas, Venezuela. Marroquin works with textiles to make wall art. His process has evolved over 2 decades from traditional hand embroidery to large scale installations, and collaborations with interior designers. Currently working as a professor's assistant at F.I.T., Marroquin lives between New York and Bridgeport.

Judy Pancoast is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter. She is perhaps most well-known for her creative and clever original music for children and has performed at fairs, festivals, libraries, and anywhere children and families gather across the country. Judy has also released two Christmas albums that feature originals and traditional holiday tunes. In recent years she has ventured into the world of Musical Theater and is now working on her third show. Her current project is titled "Coming Out Party." WEBSITE

Marc Zaref is a contemporary American artist, known to some as a sculptor, others as a painter or designer. Drawing is the foundation of his processes, and is apparent in his works on paper, through playful assemblages of forged and welded steel. A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, Zaref's lifelong explorations in sculpture and site-specific installations have flourished in recent years. His work covers a broad range of methods, materials and fabrication techniques, and he dedicates his time to his two and three-dimensional work in his studio and shop in Norwalk. WEBSITE
