WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

Rick Reyes is a folk hero of the Connecticut independent music scene. A troubadour, songwriter, producer, and a storyteller performer. He is known for poetic lyrics, and for leading the Latin Rock band Cosmic Jibaros Hailing from Bridgeport. The Cosmic Jibaros are legendary for their high energy shows. Their music is a mixture of Rock, Puerto Rican roots, Caribbean rhythms and global influences. Formulating a sound that is both cross-cultural, highly danceable, and hypnotically magnetic. Primarily sung in Spanish by Reyes, the songs are laced with social and political overtones, and energized by the pulse of congas, timbales, and effects-laden guitar work. OUR NEWS

THANK YOUR FOR A TERRIFIC ACE AWARDS!

IT WAS GREAT TO BE TOGETHER!

More than 180 Cultural Alliance members, their supporters and legislators gathered to celebrate our 6th Daniel E Offutt III Arts & Cultural Empowerment awardees on Wed. June 15 at the Shore and Country Club, Norwalk. Award winning actor James Naughton was the entertaining MC for the event, ending his several pleas for financial support for the arts by breaking into song!

David Green commented: “What was most inspiring was to see artists, cultural nonprofits, legislators, business leaders and many others gathered together for the same purpose - celebrating the awardees and the power of the arts and culture to sustain and uplift the community in good times and challenging times. Resilience was the theme of the day, but it was joyful resilience - celebrating the human spirit and the solid contributions of all creative changemakers.”

Look out for videos and photographs of the event on social media and on our website. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

HOW AUCTIONS IDENTIFY THE NEXT BIG ARTISTS & TRENDS

Ayanna Dozier explores how auctions predict the rise of art stars and identify trends in the contemporary scene through financial returns. While many spectators cast their attention toward biennials as harbingers of what is to come in the art world, auctions reflect these changes more quickly and concretely than the usual institutional measures that rely on time to solidify these currents.

HOW TO CREATE THE PERFECT INVOICE FOR ARTISTS

Artwork Archive addresses online sales online and how vital it is to be able to sell work online and build client relationships. Online invoicing not only means getting paid on time, it means being able to run your art business from anywhere, under any circumstances. When you invoice with care, attention, and consistency, you are working to build client relationships. Good invoicing isn’t purely transactional, it's relational.
