SPOTLIGHT:THE ARTS, CULTURE, & THE FUTURE OF BRIDGEPORT
Join Phil Kuchma, Lauren Coakley Vincent and Seve di Costanzo to discuss how the arts and culture are driving Bridgeport forward. Builder and real estate manager and developer Kuchma has been shaping downtown Bridgeport since 1972 with the arts at the forefront of his consciousness. Steve di Costanza has led WPKN since 2012. The station was voted Best radio station (music) in 2017 by CT Magazine and "the word's best radio station" by The New Yorker in 2021. What does the recent move to Downtown's Bijou Theatre mean for the station? How important is place to a radio station? Lauren Coakley Vincent is just finishing her fourth year leading the Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District. A downtown merchants group, it has been transformed by Vincent's driving a Colorful Bridgeport campaign, public art commissions, and now a guide to that art. How far can the arts drive a city's economy and spirit? Listen and find out. Listen here
